I have seen that so many times, along with "Treasure Island". "The Champ" is still a tear jerker for sure.

We loved that show when we were kids. It's great to watch and see California back in the old days. When it was all onion fields as my dad used to say.

Believe it or not, this is the time of year when in early morning you can still smell the scent of chives wafting over the Santa Cruz mountains from Castroville and into the Santa Clara valley.
But even some of those fields are beginning to go the way of the dodo.

How true. As a little girl I never enjoyed the 3 Stooges- too mean and violent. But when my son was six, he would occasionally watch and he would just ROAR with laughter through the whole show. LOL
And Texxon is there!
That cover copies a classic Thrilling Wonder Stories cover. Mort Weisinger and Julius Schwartz were obviously paying homage to the magazine where they got their start.

That's sounds beautiful. I'd love to go to California some day. My goal is to take the train out there and go to the Rose Bowl parade.
My husband has a bunch of the dvds he shares with our little boy. About every three or four viewings he throws in the little archive clip of Moe showing how it was all pretend and the tricks they used so they didn't really hurt each other.
Thomas Ross Bond played the bully, "Butch," in 'Our Gang' films. Bond played a member of the Gang named Tommy. After his first year he was dropped from the cast but returned later in the role of Butch, the archenemy of Alfalfa.
In the 1940s, Bond played Jimmy Olsen in two Superman movies and appeared as Joey Pepper in several installments of the "Five Little Peppers'' serial.
