"... I just forgot the name and I just HAD it on my brain too!"

I'm so glad you didn't say you had it on the tip of your tongue. I would have been so jealous.

yesterday evening, I witness the second and third most nifty sunset effects i have ever seen.

715pm
eastern hemisphere clear, sun below horizon, sky a bright clear blue
western hemisphere solid overcast, with the edge running essentially N-S
the edge reflecting so much white-yellow-orange sunlight that most of the useful light CAME FROM THE EAST and so intensely that it cast crisp shadows
I sat out there and watched, knowing that it would happen: The shadow of the world crept at a perceptible rate up the face of the cloudbank.

damn, that was so nifty.

"The shadow of the world crept at a perceptible rate up the face of the cloudbank."

And the eyes in your head see the world spinning round ...

Therefore let it be stated that seeing does not equate to vision.

Shadows

A shadow has two parts, you know.
The one above, the one below.
Within the shadow of a tree,
Toward the light here’s what you’ll see.

A shaded part of tree is found,
To join the part that’s on the ground.
The joining of the two may be,
Inseparable, like ground and tree.

But as the world turns through the day,
The shadow starts upon its way.
To join its cousins in the night,
And leave the clinging one in fright.

The world has turned its face away,
From that bright light that we call day.
The darkness that befalls thereon.
Will stay until the break of dawn.

The night is shadow’s fearful half,
The other part leaps with a laugh,
Out where it dwindles to a dot,
Evaporating on the spot,

Unless the moon has ventured in,
As round the Earth it does its spin.
The shadow is a twin at birth,
Even when its mother’s Earth.

With one that clings close to its mother,
And one that flies away from brother.
Its journey’s length always depends,
On what befalls before it ends.

Oh, sure - show off your poetry. Here - here's some of mine....

I want to be in some beatnik cafe
On a smoky spot lit stage
The darkened room filled with black clad turtlenecked hipsters
Pouring out my prose
about love lost
love found
and the realization that there is nothing to that love
but being needed for every little thing
And to slam out about the freedom found
In that cold realization
And in finally, finally
being able to breath
I want to look into their cold dead hipster eyes
and see a spark a tear an emotion
that says I touched them, some how, some way

I want to be in some empty field
frozen ground crunching under my boots
frosty air fogging around me
as I talk to the stars and the moon and the emotionless trees
Telling them of hope regained
Of a light at the end of a tunnel
and a spark relit in my heart
I want to yell my words to them
knowing they will not turn away
knowing that they will stay
in one place, save as the earth turns beneath them
fading with the dawn

I want to hold you in my arms
and tell you
I know what it is to walk on those eggshells
I have walked that muddy mile
and know what it is to have the gumbo grabbing my boots
making each
step
so
much
heavier
than
the
last.....
Until finally it feels
as though you cannot go on any
longer
and you want to fall at the roadside
I know what it is to await the next blow
Save that mine were not physical
Verbal slaps, emotional jabs
But I have walked upon those eggshells, and know the fear of hearing one
crack

I want to hold you close in my arms
and let you know
that not all men are jerks
I want to hold you close
And tell you that I love you
And in that dark night, with you at my side
To ask the stars:
Do you believe in Fairy Tales?
to ask them:
Do you believe in dreams come true?
I do
How about you?

Hello! Welcome to the new home of the Undead Thread! Do not attempt to adjust the horizontal. Do not attempt to adjust the vertical....we are in control...this is hugh, and we're very series about it.

We actually have no topic here, so just fall in and have fun!

No, you can't IBTZ!

But, you can KIBTZ!

kibitz (kîb´îts) verb, intransitive
kibitzed, kibitzing, kibitzes
Informal.
1. To look on and offer unwanted, usually meddlesome advice to others.
2. To chat; converse.
[Yiddish kibitsen, from German kiebitzen, from Kiebitz, pewit, kibitzer, from Middle High German gìbitz, pewit, of imitative origin.]
- kib´itzer noun

And 'Face. Did we miss you? In the würst way!!!
