Dangerous Hurricane Rita is expected to make landfall in the northeast Gulf of Mexico within 24 hours. Tornados have spawned in Louisiana. Water is filling the Ninth Ward of New Orleans again. A bus carrying elderly evacuees was gutted by fire this morning outside Dallas, with multiple fatalities. Television crews have positioned their hurricane reporters throughout the region to attain maximum drama effects. Whoooooa.

You're not.
How will we be able to tell when she starts babbling? Watch for drool I reckon'.
Someone please clue in Blanco that we are a nation of LAWS, not RULES.
She is still in Kindergarten mode.
It's starting to sprinkle here.
When it rains, we always lose our electricity. If it goes, I'll check back on when I can...if I can.
They'd only crawl through Eakers window once.
"Come on In and I'll drag you out in pieces"
Only 28? Poser. :)
Yeah well there are people who only have that picture to go by
and it seems I am NOT the only one with my stated opinion
I could care less what he and his does at the range
That type of picture is irresponsible
But thank you for you opnion on my opinion
I'm sure we could do our own remake of "The gods must be crazy" ...w/Katrina & Rita serving as the local gods who must be appeased. Blanco could play the high priestess who consults w/the angry god (Rita). I'm sure she'll tell us, within a message from Rita, that the taxpayer must be sacrificed.
correct on all counts. she is under control of the DNC - and I continue to assert, she was under orders from the DNC to "go slow" on the immediate aftermath of Katrina, to make the federal response more difficult, so they could blame Bush for it.
I meant '83. I had a lot of trees down and I remember not having power for 4 days.
thanks
LOL but I'm on drool alert.
The wind is really picking up here. Probably 30-40 mph gusts. Skies really darkening. HUGE cloudtops rolling in.
Well, I'm here in Nederland, a few blocks north of Port Arthur. Getting rather blustery here. Don't know how much longer I'll have electricity. I stayed here to take care of my 91-year-old grandmother, who just got out of the hospital Wednesday, and is in fairly delicate condition. She sure couldn't have taken that evacuation nightmare.
Long-time lurker, who finally got around to signing up just now.
I've thrashed myself for that selfishness, though--a heat-adled brain gone flatulent...
Better hot and here than waiting there for Rita. More heartfelt prayers for those affected--all y'all hunker down and stay safe!
;^)
Here's another theory that was posted on Drudge

Amen to that!
Shep is in Port Arthur - the police are pulling out shortly.
Central Fla. weather is bright sun on the right with dark black skies toward Seminole county and rain falling only in my yard. (hurricane rain band)
