Hurricane Rita Live Thread, Part VI
NHC - NOAA ^ | 23 September 2005 | NHC - NOAA

Posted on 09/23/2005 9:39:06 AM PDT by NautiNurse

Dangerous Hurricane Rita is expected to make landfall in the northeast Gulf of Mexico within 24 hours. Tornados have spawned in Louisiana. Water is filling the Ninth Ward of New Orleans again. A bus carrying elderly evacuees was gutted by fire this morning outside Dallas, with multiple fatalities. Television crews have positioned their hurricane reporters throughout the region to attain maximum drama effects. Whoooooa.

I find coffee to be a morning thing.

It is 2200 hours here.

I don't partake of the coffee bean at night.

It's just very windy and a little wet.

The strong stuff, should it actually arrive, will be here in several hours. Which gives me more time to drink. ;-)

Maybe the wind has effected her mouth.

That must be the plastic surgery. Too much wind in the face puts pressure on her lips and the area around her eyes and tightens up her buttocks while loosening pressure on the skin at her elbows and knees.

Where is Geraldo? He hasn't been on for an hour so. I am getting a little worried about him!

I'm trying to catch up with the thread and thank all of you sportscasters for the play-by-play of Shep. ("Down goes Shep. Down goes Shep.") I see he has his cap on Shep-in-the-hood style now.

Stay safe, everyone.

Reporting in Lake Charles a strong band just about to hit land in Lake Charles. They said the first outer ring of the eyewall has moved through Cameron. Eye is still 60 miles out.

TORNADO WARNING in effect for Lafayette Parish till 10:15 pm.
