These pictures are so great snugs - thank you.
Yes, I think it was an anniversary present from her husband. That's just a guess, but when she wore this necklace originally, it was right after her anniversary - and I just put 2 and 2 together.

A handsome couple.
A dignified couple
A couple with class.
A happy couple
A couple in love
A President and his First Lady of the United States!
We are soooooooo blessed. True love and not just for the camera. True love and not sitting idly by while your husband messes with other women.
I will love these people forever and ever and history will prove we were DAMNED LUCKY to have them both!

I saw your post. when I have a question on a thread like that, I find recent posters who seem to be high on the techie things..and I ask/ping about 3 or four of them. Just ask if they think you should evacuate.. Esp any of the Texas that are knowledgeable. Of course with any issue people disagree.. Good luck. We don't want you to be a statistic!

Well .. the father and the son are two very different people. While GW honors and loves his dad, his dad is from the old school where people of both parties treated each other with respect. While dad is willing to overlook Clinton's failures .. I think it irks the son; mostly because I truly believe the GW believes that Clinton's mishandling of the attacks on the USA were the REAL REASON we were hit on 9/11.

Well the VP doesn't wear his cowboy clothes to work and neither does the President. So, I would imagine Roberts dresses casual in his off time. Besides...Easterners tend to dress a little more anyway. We did when we grew up there. It's just a way of life. A little more formal. But, they can be in their casuals too. By the way, what a great shot of our VP. I LOVE this administration. They are professional, sharp, intelligent and then they know how to have fun. They are like family members. :)

absolutely correct and it is heartbreaking to see/hear about the rubbish he tolerates from his detractor's in the media & Rat-field.

I cannot evacuate. I have to work tomorrow night.
To: DollyCali
I know but...look at his support system. He and his family are able to brush off the attacks. They know who they are and are secure in who they are. :) It's gonna be tough to replace him. He's soooooo strong and makes us all feel secure.

they have only in past year or maybe a bit longer been a bit more cozy. I can recall some funeral or special event(was it Reagan's funeral) where 41 scowled at him most of time & lunged at him. Seems it was the stairs of a public building. I recall the discussion on one of the threads afterwards. Anyone else with a better memory recall this?

you know one thing about leaders they have to lead & be strong in appearance. It has to take a toll on him. Just like all others who have to endure this type of crap. He is a Christian & hands his burdens to God but still so often we see those looks of disgust & frustration.

oh yes, I am sure he has those looks of frustration and disgust...especially disgust. However, as you said..he hands those burdens over to God. "Let Go and Let God." Works every time.

on one of the Rita threads the other day one man at coast said he was going to ride out the storm. Another FReeper shared a list of things to do etc to be safe. some one else responded "put your SS number across your chest in permanent marker so they will ID your body rather than throw you into a mass grave"... It was funny BUT it did make sense. I think you are far enough inland as opposed to be in Galveston. I am not to knowledgeable on the terrain there , although I lived in Houston close to 2 years. I recall it was low & floods were very common in heavy rains.
Are you in the medical profession that you must stay?

The value you declared on it because it was high value it was subject to UK duty and VAT.
Customs would not release it until I had paid those dues.
In future if you are sending to anyone abroad only declare bare minimum of value because compensation is only paid if it is lost at a very small percentage of the value unless you pay extra insurance and the person you are sending it to will be liable for tax and duties on the value you declare.
Not all post is subject to customs clearance I believe that it is random but it is more likely to be one of those picked if the value is high.
Thank you so much for the bits they are lovely
