Extremely dangerous Category 5 Hurricane Rita continues to threaten the Greater Houston Metropolitan area. The forecast track has shifted slightly to the northeast, increasing the risk to Southwest Louisiana, and a significant portion of the oil and gas operations in the Gulf of Mexico. Texas Governor Perry is urging all coastal residents between Beaumont and Corpus Christi to evacuate as soon as possible.

He doesn't own a SUV personally, but his FAMILY does.
Is is so similar to last time. 'bla bla bla but it changed direction...' was the excuse
Thanks for sticking up for us, no one has even answered the california dude. He doesn't have a clue the contempt in which we hold california, or how irrelevant they are to our lives, except to the extent that they're screwing up the country.
Blanco requested 800 additional buses and drivers.
Must be a cloudy day....
I'm watching a report from CBS, and they say the storm surge could be 50 feet high near Galveston. Wow!
Bye Willie, God Bless.
Good analogy. I've ridden out Cat 3's before but where 4's are concerned, I'd be long gone before it got there. And 5's? Forget it, I'd be out of there.
I'm originally from CA and I used to hear that joke when I was working in Chicago back in the 80's. It's now more true than ever...lol...(except for freeper BK, Ahhhhnold, and Pete Wilson).
Blanko Dubois, as I like to call her.
Have you read thru this thread?
Exactly.
Honest, she is quite a dolt.
as usual, see bs is about 24 hours late with the news. it's called history when aged that long.
LOL
Con Air. You're right. I hope they're keeping an eye on those buses full of prisoners.
The projected point of landfall has moved 148.7 miles northeast since 4 pm yeaterday.
Houston "dodged a bullet".
On the current track, Rita will make landfall at the TX/LA border.
Don't take that to the bank, though, because the turn shows no sign of abating.
LA and Blanco are now on the hot seat.
Evacuated twice getting away from Elena.
Wherever this Rita makes landfall, many will feel the impact, unless much weakening occurs.
Holy cow, Governor Blanco must have someone reading our threads -- she just said live on TV that people who decide not to evacuate should write their Social Security number on their arms in permanent marker!
And notice that when anybody asks a question, she NEVER can answer and always has to have somebody else step up with the answer.
She is a puppet.
Sorry. I have a hard time keeping up with the threads. It was news to me.
By the end of this day... LA population will be very low... and Texas will be TRIPPLED........ Keep those hand guns close by.
