Extremely dangerous and large Category Five Hurricane Rita is churning westward across the Gulf of Mexico toward Texas. Air Force Reconnaissance indicated the central pressure has dropped to 904mb, making Rita the fifth most intense hurricane ever in the Atlantic Basin.
Hurricane and Tropical Storm Watches have been issued from Northern Mexico through the South Louisiana coastline. Galveston TX used school buses to evacuate residents. Mandatory and voluntary evacuations are in effect along the Texas coastline.

That's Philippe. Former hurricane, now tropical storm. He's supposed to go up north, but he's been hanging around for a while and I'm starting to worry about him.
Besides, he LIES about TIMESTAMPS. ;^)
Both of these storms have been rated as "really big" by the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences.

I think we agree that there were many problems in New Orleans. But that is true in many cities, including the one where I go to work every day. Others, who have lived there for years, found much to love about it, despite the problems. They were born and raised there, married there in beautiful churches, had their babies there. Many of their ancestors are buried there. Special occasions were celebrated in fabulous restaurants that may or may not ever re-open. When I was a little girl, my parents took me there. My baby brother, born in 1970, was adopted from a home for unwed mothers there. When I was in New Orleans on business earlier this year, I stayed at the Windsor Court Hotel and ate at Galatoire's, Commander's Palace, Bayona, August, Mother's, and the Bon Ton. Just writing this post is making me cry again thinking of the losses so many have suffered. No, I just cannot agree with you that New Orleans, the city, deserved to die.
