If you are in the path of this storm, please sign in here, so that the rest of us can keep track of our "displaced" friends and family.
And when you return, remember to sign in, as we will be looking for you!
BLESS YOU!
I think you should get the Free Republic Medal of Honor.
I do not say that with my tongue in my cheek.
You are a real fine piece of work.
When the hurricane gets closer, I'll try to post updated maps which show the relectivity radar, satellite images, and such combined with FReeper locations.
So are you hanging out in Sugarland?
Have not heard on the contra-flow but did just hear from a friend at the scene that 45 is at a standstill up there.
That is neat. Is that Lake Houston towards the NE?
Is anymouse evacuating?
Is Hwy 6 in that pic?
My daughter lives NW Houston, Near Katy.
She is evacuating right now coming here to Dallas area. She, her cat, dog and my Granddaughter. She has quarter tank of gas, She works in HR Dept for Shell oil. She had worked overtime to place their employees from NO.
She said they can't find gas anywhere the traffic is bumper to bumper, and yet she works for Shell.
Stores are totally out of water and supplies. I pray they all make it here.
She just bought a new home and didn't have flood insurance.
OffMyMeds - you need to get the heck out of there.
Post that over here:

Hey, Spiff - could you put a couple of markers on the map - one for downtown Houston, and one at West Belt and I-10, or some other point west for reference?
Best wishes for your daughter. If she drives thru the Bryan/College Station area she should still find gas.
There was gas as of an hour ago in the stations I drove past.
Me? Whatever for? And I'm asking in all sincerity.
OOOOhhhhh......that is REALLY cool, Spiff.
An excellent job, once again; we really count on you!
Check in with somebody, okay?
If you want it, I'll give you my cell number.
I second what Spiff just said. You really need to get the heck outta there.
BTW - great pics. Thanks for posting. Gives a good perspective.
If my Wife read this, she'd probably track ya'll down and kick your Ass. It brought tears to my eyes just thinking about it.
If all goes well, I should be checking in tomorrow afternoon or evening from a safe hotel room somewhere in Oklahoma.
Amazing thank you so much!
kassie - I hope you check out the aerial photo that Spiff posted in #227. You guys seems a lot more vulnerable than I even imagined - especially if Rita hits Matagorda Bay as some believe.
How about hocndoc? Aren't you Houston area?
