I hope this is true but I'm skeptical. I have a hard time believing Kim Jong Il would give up anything. In fact, the news strikes me as somewhat worrisome (donning tin foil hat - but I do worry if they have missile power sufficient to strike us in HI).I agree with you. Kim Jong Il has lied before and will no doubt lie again. DOnt trust, verify.

It's hardly surprising that Kim Il is going to "go to ground" and play nice until President Bush retires...
...But it's also worth pointing out that President Bush got what he wanted, in the way that he wanted it, by using a diplomatic strategy that was ridiculed by the know-nothing news media.
Just don't confuse the next 3.5 years of peace with a true NK change of heart.
They finally figured out that GWB wasn't going to let them get away with anything...so now they'll play nice for a while.
Rest assured that our next President will find himself being tested by NK, however.
That being said, the NK fire may very well have been put out. Then again, fires can be re-lit later on.

Me thinks US Delegate might have quiet talk with DPRK Delegate and explained to him that US keeps hearing that techs in NK are using such bad technique that their was a danger of an explosion at their nuc plant.... and how that would have made Hiroshima look like a wet match.... and how it would be end of DPRK.....

I wonder how the moronic Democrats will spin this bit of news.

I hope the msm continues to give this a low profile, which of course they will because they don't want to make Dubya look good. However, I think it is important that NK sees the west is not going to get giddy about this until we see actions as well as words.

I agree this seems to good to be true. I wouldn't worry about them using any weapons any time soon, as we have subs in the area that could launch ICBMs within seconds of their launch.
But if it is true this will be great news for Bush. Also get ready for the spin to begin.
