It's kind of hard imagining the storm surge reaching all the way to Angleton.

No, but Angleton will get the wind with little lose of strength and would almost certaily lose power.

That's pretty rich coming from Brinkley. He made a prediction a few weeks ago that was a laffer.

Heh, I always forget what the wooly caterpillars are supposed to mean. ;-)

Big hurricane seasons, and summers that are warm/hot in the midwest/NE tend to correlate to good winters though. I'm hoping.. I love snow.

"North Padre ahhh. Was fishing there about 24 hrs. ago."

My son and I were planning to go this weekend...We're 14 miles from the PINS park entrance. We'll see how the weather shapes up.

Thanks for leaving us some fish to catch...

Me too - but I think the more black they are the worse the winter is supposed to be.....one of the meetings I'm attending this evening includes a bunch of good ole boy farmers - I'll ask and get back to you........

I'm in the Cypress area. Flooding will be a concern along the creeks, but there has been a lot of drainage work done out here over the past 3-4 years.

Thank-you!
Now that you mention it, I noticed that one of the retention basins they built along Grant Road (near Spring-Cypress) was nearly empty with just a swampy looking bottom showing. (I saw that on Saturday when I drove over to my brother's place.) Anyway, it's good that it wasn't already full, so if we DO get a lot of rain, it should hold a lot more.

That just tells me that the MSM continues to be determined to cut off their nose to spite their face. No ethics, no morals and no desire to research any facts to find the truth about any report that would contradict their own biased point of view and agenda. Thank God for the Blogasphere! The Drudge Report article mentioned them more than once in bringing the "Broussard Time-line" into question. Now I guess we will just wait and see if they are determined to once again blame our President for this new hurricane. Guess it will depend on how much damage is done.

I live 50 miles inland in Ft Bend County.

You're a bit closer than that. The Gulf is about 50 miles south of you, but only about 40 miles southeast of you. (Google Earth tells no lies.) Regardless, your point is correct about the flooding. That won't be a problem.

Trees landing in your bedroom might be a problem.

Deciding what caliber of gun to use on your neighbor who has fired up his generator to make homemade ice cream three days after the storm is gone might be a problem.

Two questions:

1) Did DG determine if your husband would be home?

2) Did you ever find your way to the Swinging Door, and if so will you buy the ribs?

I know----he is pretty smarmy...and I am sure that Chrissy expected him to be on Nagin's side..

I could tell..because Chrissy was really befuddled by Brinkley's description of Nagin as being "dazed and confused" by everything that has happened...

Ever since the Kerry campaign, I have nothing but contempt for Brinkley.
