From a transcript of a news conference given today by Curt Weldon, he said: The first week the story broke in the New York Times, I was in Pennsylvania that Friday doing district work and I got a call at my office. My chief of staff took the call, and it was from a person I’d never met in my entire life. I’d never mentioned her name. She was on vacation and asked my chief of staff for me to call her back.

Her name was Jamie Gorelick.

Wow. Read the whole thing.

According to the blog the remaining Able Danger files were likely destroyed in January 2004...regarding Berger the burglar...

According to the charges, Berger -- between September 2 and October 2, 2003 -- "knowingly removed classified documents from the National Archives and Records Administration and stored and retained such documents at places," such as his private Washington office.

FYI...

a 2003 news release...

The U.S. Army John F. Kennedy Special Warfare Center and School welcomed a new commander and saw its former leader promoted to lieutenant general during ceremonies held July 16. Major General William G. Boykin relinquished command of the special-operations training center to Major General Geoffrey C. Lambert. Immediately following the change of command ceremony, Boykin received his third star.

Lambert, a 30-year Army veteran and an SF officer for most of his career, was formerly commanding general of the U.S. Army Special Forces Command.

Lambert's other assignments include rifle platoon leader and assistant operations officer, 75th Infantry (Ranger); battalion commander, 7th SF Group; commander, 10th SF Group; commander, Special Operations Command-Europe; and director, Center for Operations, Plans and Policy, U.S. Special Operations Command, MacDill Air Force Base, Fla.

All important government hard drives were reformatted as Bush was sworn in, in January, 2001.

Someone threw out an interesting theory recently- the idea that 911 was anticipated and expected, which would launch the Gore Admin into an excuse to establish firmer control over the US- the next step toward a police state.

As it turns out,we already have the Patriot Act (instead of a formal war declaration and suspension of habeas corpus, according to Article 1 Sec.9) and a mostly PC approach to national security. Can you imagine the fallout under a power structure like we had in the 90s? >>shudder!<<

There have been lots of threads on this I think it was in the late 90's or 2000 but can't recall specifically. It was definitively a Clinton adm. creation and if you think it out almost had to be a Hillary job.

Do we know the date (s) when the wall was constructed?

The actual Gorelick memo is floating around cyberspace. I've read it! Some good Freeper will no doubt link you to it.

Ms. Hillary sits on the Armed Services Committee which had a closed briefing on the matter, so she would know what is coming out in the hearings.

If this were a court case, she would have to recuse herself. What a travesty to have her as a Senator.

Got it: As the No. 2 person in the Clinton Justice Department, Ms. Gorelick rejected advice from the U.S. attorney for the Southern District of New York, who warned against placing more limits on communications between law-enforcement officials and prosecutors pursuing counterterrorism cases, according to several internal documents written in summer 1995. (none)

...a big test for Specter.

Specter has proven his mettle many times in the past. He is a major establishment fixer and cover-up doc. He will not change his spots here.

Gorelick was deputy attorney general of the United States, a position she assumed in March 1994.

Before serving as Deputy Attorney General of the United States, she was General Counsel of the Department of Defense

Wonder who stayed connected to Gorelick at the DOD or who took here place?

Apparantly, she's in a habit of not reclusing herself...

Gorelick's former law firm -Miller, Cassidy, Larroca and Lewin – [was] representing Craig Livingstone, the man at the center of the [Clinton] Filegate scandal [being investigated by the Justice Department].” Not surprisingly, Gorelick, who was effectively running Justice at the time, did not recuse herself.
