Confirm John Roberts(Washington Post Editorial Endorses Judge Roberts)
washingtonpost.com ^ | Sept 18 2006

JOHN G. ROBERTS JR. should be confirmed as chief justice of the United States. He is overwhelmingly well-qualified, possesses an unusually keen legal mind and practices a collegiality of the type an effective chief justice must have. He shows every sign of commitment to restraint and impartiality. Nominees of comparable quality have, after rigorous hearings, been confirmed nearly unanimously. We hope Judge Roberts will similarly be approved by a large bipartisan vote.

They know they have lost this battle so they are going to save all of their ammo for the next one.

It is part of a facade or reasonablility on the left so they can murder the next SCOTUS nominee.

Exactly.

The Leftist media has done all they could on this one, they even managed to bring along dopes like Scarborough and Tucker (Wooosy Maximus) Carlson to their "Blame Bush" mantra on this national tragedy.

President Bush ignored them all as he did what we elected him to do..... LEAD

Now we see the left calling for unity.... A sire sign on surrender, The left has been doing this since the day Neville Chamberlain waved his signed document from Hitler himself as he declared "Peace In Our Time"

Tucker Carlson claims to be a Conservative, I consider him a "Reactionary"..... He denounces the war in Iraq, yet he claims he wants to rid the world of terrorism. I cannot see how he can justify his position.

Some people's grasp of history cannot see beyond this mornings breakfast, and their vision for the future is limited to the "Farmers Almanac"

The leftist media and some of the supposed "Conservative" talking heads ( Scarborough [ a mental midget, who isn't even a RINO; but worse ], wee Tucker, fruitbat, Carlson, lost his mind long ago Buchanan, etc. )may finally realize just how irrelevant they are, someday soon. They've done nothing but trash President Bush, from day one, and it hasn't fazed him one bit. That just has to frighten and worry them all, more than they'll admit to publicly.

Yes, we elected him to lead and LEAD well he has; no matter what FR's fringers/doom&gloomers post ! :-)

Sadly, it appears that the vast majority of people's grasp of history, is about 5 hours ago, at best.

aw sh#t... we conservatives are screwed.

If the WP endorses this guy, he's a lib/Rino/moderate.... Otherwise they'd of found some women or young boy to testify about sexual abuse.

Yikes. When the Wash Post is pulling for him, it can't be good news. What do they know that I don't know?

I am fine with this one. Let Bush nominate Janice Rogers Brown. If they defeat her, then nominate someone more conservative!! Luttig?

Reason: Democrats don't like a woman, and they don't like a black. Since the Democrats will only confirm a white man, I (Bush) have no choice.

When the Wash Post is pulling for him, it can't be good news. What do they know that I don't know?

That he is going to be confirmed, that they will likely have an interest in a case before the court, and that trashing him will only guarantee that they go into that case as a party that trashed the chief justice before his confirmation vote?

This is just a wild guess into the thought process.
