I love it when Rush talks about Starbucks. LOL!
"I might have the chauffer stop at a Starbucks so I can go in and look around."
Haha!! And then:
It's a good liberal place to go... go there and have your coffee and read the New York Times.
My favorite though:
"You gotta go in there and waste the first 30 minutes of your day, sitting there reading the New York Times while your coffee is being delivered."

Rush assumes that Bush will choose a well heeled conservative.

The Roberts hearings are nothing. The hearings for whomever replaces Sandra "Late-In-The- Day" O'Connor is going to be the blood bath. You think you have heard hate speech against conservatives before, wait till that appointee gets on the hot seat. You talk about attack, hate, hate, hate, hate, hate and more hate, piled on hate and more hate, then you are just beginning to imagine what it is going to look like. The Thomas hearings will be nothing compared to that one. Because the liberals know the court swings right with that selection. They will pile all the hate, crap, junk, hate, not supporting abortion hate, etc. on the candidate. With what they say, you will wonder why the candidate was not in jail instead of being asked to sit on the high court.
The aftermath of those hearings will leave as much destruction as Katrina did. The person Bush nominates will need skin as thick as the Hoover Dam. Those hearings will last forever. The person will be branded anti-EVERYTHING, evil, anti-abortion, a racist, anti-gay, anti-black, anti-immigration, pro-war, pro-God, etc.
Oh yes my friends, it is going to be a MSM and pro-media friendly to the liberals, anti-the candidate en-mass.

Rush emphasized the fact that the MSM is gleeful about its wish-fulfilment belief that Bush is so politically wounded by his poll numbers that he is a lame duck.Maybe I don't understand the situation, but isn't a second term president usually referred to as a lame duck, regardless of his poll numbers?

And Rush emphasized how tunnel-visioned the media are, and how completely absorbed they are "in the moment." In, that is, their own news cycle - whether it is a day or an hour. To be absorbed "in the moment" is to subject yourself to the fog of breaking news - what in battle is called "the fog of war." If you stay in that fog, you have no idea where you will end up because you will never have any perspective. In the case of Katrina, perspective would be things like the fact that Katrina is perhaps ten times more expensive than any previous natural disaster. And that the second most expensive was Hurricane Andrew - and no other hurricane is a close third. And that in both Katrina and Andrew, the controversy involved a Republican president and a recalcitrant Democratic governor.
