PALESTINIANS FIRE MORTARS INTO ISRAEL TEL AVIV [MENL] -- For the first time, Palestinian gunners have succeeded in firing mortars into Israel.
Israeli military sources said Palestinian insurgents have managed to fire mortars from the eastern and northern Gaza Strip into Israel. So far, there have not been injuries in Israel.
"The fire represents the success of Palestinians to reach the edge of the Gaza Strip," a military source said. "It will provide the terrorists with a much greater edge."
Palestinian insurgency groups have developed several models of mortars. They include those of 60 mm, 81 mm and 120 mm mortars as well as launching tubes.

Every time I see one of these articles, I hope to see another posted within a few minutes: "Israelis Rain Artillery Fire on Terrorists" It's likely one day you will. But only after one or several attacks that exact a significant death toll. That's the unspoken, ugly fact of tolerance of low level, aka unsuccessful, terrorism.

The "minimal collateral damage" issue, however, will depend solely on where the mortars are fired from. Jihadis have no qualms about hiding in the middle of civilians...However, after a few counter-battery responses, the jihadis will be shot on sight by locals who want no part of Israeli counter-battery fire falling on their back yard. An interesting idea, I've read that locals are concerned about a massive Israeli response, not that the terrorists care about them. I won't be surprised if they test the Israeli response in the West Bank. To the world, an Israeli response would be far less popular there, it's still occupied, than in unoccupied Gaza. Depending how Gaza develops, in six months the world might welcome an incursion.

I do believe Israel has the right to defend themselves for having missiles and things lobbed on them.
Seems to me they have the right now IMO to mine all of gaza as a new buffer zone after the Palestinians used to to launch a missile attack.
In the end there needs to be a war, let the victor declair the terms of peace and let all the middle east buy a little land from Jordan so the Palestinians can go home to where most came from.

They are incapable of being civilized and this will prove they cannot be trusted and the truth is not in them.

I don't see how anyone could come to another conclusion, but they will. Screw that! This won't stop and Israel should tell everyone to sod off and do what has to be done.
This is a complete waste of time.

'Flag of Islam will rise over Jerusalem' Hamas chief vows to remove Jews from all 'Palestine' After successfully helping to get Gaza for Palestine, Hamas' eyes are riveted on Jerusalem, the capital of Israel, chief city of David's ancient kingdom and future site of the throne room of the Messiah.

Actually it is....it's going to be awful hard to defend the PA. Sharon knew this would happen, stupid people are so predictable. They will keep doing this and it will give America the ability to say to Israel..."welp, you did what you said you would, they didn't hold up their end. Go get em. Because as we all know, this won't be over until one side is completely gone...and as we all know, it won't be Israel.

That's the only way this Israel's actions make sense. Not necessarily why they did it, but sometimes nations stumble into victory.

The trouble is there have already been 3 wars and all were won by those terrible joos(according to the UN). If they win another, there should be clear cut for 5 miles of all land at the border and the world should agree to let Israel enjoy the land earned and given by yahweh with no muslims inside its borders.

Like I said, let there be the war of all wars and remove the Palestinians if they don't stop this crud.
Send them back to Jordan where most came from and make the rest of the Middle East pay for some land to put them elsewhere.
