Louisiana Gov. Kathleen Blanco lashed out at FEMA on Tuesday, complaining the agency is moving too slowly in recovering the bodies of those killed by Hurricane Katrina.
The dead "deserve more respect than they have received," she said at state police headquarters in Baton Rouge.
She said that the Federal Emergency Management Agency still has not signed a contract with the company hired to handle the removal of the bodies, Houston-based Kenyon International Emergency Services.
Calls to a FEMA spokesman in New Orleans and the Homeland Security Department in Washington were not immediately returned.
/rapidly scrolls down his timeline... Nope, not a thing...

Somebody put a tent over this circus!
I wouldn't call it "guts." I'd call it "unmitigated gall." Chutzpah works too, but not enough people outside NYC grasp the full meaning of the word, so "unmitigated gall" will simply have to do.
I think either FEMA, DHS or Kenyon ought to put out a statement saying they're close to an agreement, but they decided to take 24 hours to think it over.
Responsible? Do you really think she cares on iota about her responsibility? She just wanted to be Governor along with the perks. The responsibilities were to be left to others.
These people really pee me off. What the hell are the mayor and governor doing, except finger-pointing.
Well, Kathie baby, get off your high horse and go find those bodies. You're still governor of the rest of the state with resources the rest of the state can offer.
"Governors who live in glass houses shouldn't..."
She can say anything she wants and get away with it from now on.
Bush defined the debate. He took "responsibility". MSM runs free with the quote. Bush checkmated himself.
Real justice would involve the both of them doing all of it, by themselves. But, alas, this is neither a just nor perfect world...

It's a wonder that she still knows how to breathe...
It is way past time for an elected Republican official to publically put the blame on Blanco and Nagin!
Yeah...just driving through the streets picking 'em up with a front-end loader as fast as possible is so much more respectful.
Get your boots and gloves on and go help then, governor.
No doubt her heinous is writing Blank-O's rants.
She and her minions left them lying out on the streets for days and now she talks about respect! This women is something else.
She said that the Federal Emergency Management Agency still has not signed a contract with the company hired to handle the removal of the bodies, Houston-based Kenyon International Emergency Services.
Now FEMA has to sign a contract to remove her voting base? Who owns the contract to get them to vote Democrap?
Apparently the Mayor is busy moving his family to Dallas. Anyone with a link to this assertion?
" It is way past time for an elected Republican official to publically put the blame on Blanco and Nagin!"
Yep. Step up to the plate. A little tired of the RINO Hagels...
