Gentlemen apparently no longer prefer blondes.
Instead, they would rather choose the brains and sophistication more often associated with brunettes.
That is according to a study into hair colour and the intensity of attraction, which showed 51% of men thought brunettes were more attractive.
Researchers at City University showed 1,500 men three pictures of the same model digitally enhanced as a blonde, a brunette and a redhead.
They were then asked to give their impressions of the model's personality based on her hair colour.
Brunettes were described as intelligent by 81%, while 67% described them as independent and self-sufficient.
Two-thirds of the men (62%) said the brunette women appeared stable and competent.
The blonde model was described as needy and lacking in independence by four out of ten.
Redheads were thought to be intelligent by 79% of the men, although 45% described them as neurotic.
City University Professor of Psychology Peter Ayton led the research commissioned by hair products company Sunsilk.
He said blonde hair had historically been seen as a symbol of youth which was attractive to men, but added: "As the role of women has evolved, men's expectations of women have changed.
"They're looking for more intense, equal partnerships and appearance has a large role to play."
I can't remembmer her name, but I had the chance to meet her, and her husband, Peter Davison (Tristan, from "All Creatures, Great and Small," The fifth Doctor, from "Dr. Who," and of course, The Dish of the Day at Milliways in the BBC series, "The Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy") and Mark Wing-Davie, who plated Zaphod in the original series, at a Dr. Who/HHGTTG convention in St Louis many years ago. She was beautiful, seemed very intelligent, and quite nice and easy to talk with. She (and Peter too) were very down to earth, and made lots of time to speak with individuals.

I had a similar situation, but not with an online service! I had joined up with a company called "Heart to Heart," which is an introduction service, and they were SO WRONG on the match-ups that it was stunning. Of course I went in and demanded my money back after just 4 "dates," and they pretty much told me to "get stuffed." Quite expensive too, but I wound up telling them to stop sending me any "introduction" letters even though I still had 6 more.
The straw that broke the camel's back was when I got introduced to a 47 year old woman (a grandmother) who was active in her church, and who's #1 item of importance was that she was looking for a saved gentleman to participate with her in her church activities. The problem was that I was 35 at the time, had requested not to meet women older than 40, the fact that I was Jewish, and had no interest in converting... Not a very good match-up.

Actually, I always thought that it was pretty good, typical for a low budget BBC show. It sort of lent a quirky "character" to the series that made it more fun to watch, in a MST3K sort of way.

Oops! Hit the wrong button. But you won't hear me disagree with you on the casting of the movie. Wow, what an awful job. In fact, that movie was one of the worst I've seen, and was one of the greatest letdowns for me in recent history.

Ugh !
You should change it to "fore_lizard" immediately.

But, to be completely honest, about a year ago I saw a post here showing some pictures of her before and after some "plastic surgery" done on her. She really did improve. She was not so exquisite before.
To be honest I don't care about any of that. I'm happy with the results, and I'd spend a night with her any time......... or carry that bag of clubs! (Catherine, I think it's a 6 iron from here, darling.)
;-)
Didn't notice that. Just thought that aft stood for American Federation of Teachers. Maybe.
Thank you for pointing out that most "blondes" are actually just bleached brunettes.
Only 3% of adult women in the USA are blonde. These women are extremely rare.
95% of all adult women in the USA are brunette. 40% of these adult brunette women are bleached brunettes. These women are extremely common.
