Senate just passed Cedillo's SB 60 - Drivers Licenses for Illegals. Assembly passed it last night. It now goes to the Governor
If you get out, if you retreat to smaller rural towns you're part of the problem. What was once "white flight" is "middle class flight" today and is the reason the Democrats control the urban centers and very soon the population majorities. Consider yourself warned.
If SB60 is signed, we can't allow it to dissuade us from supporting necessary reforms in November. Can't get distracted.
The campaign against SB60 is the good folks at Save Our License.
Below is the contact information for Governor Schwarzenegger. Let's flood his office with requests for a veto.

They voted for leaders who don't want to do anything about illegal immigration.
Do you have a link? I could use it.
21 votes out of 40 state senators is really close, compared to previous years when there were 25 or so. If just two more Democrats had defected or abstained this year, then SB60 would have failed, and we wouldn't have had to rely on Gov. Schwarzenegger's veto. On the bright side, the trend is in the right direction.
South Bend??

My question! Do they need to take driver's test if they have never had a llicense? Or do they just automatically get handed one?
Then come pay my bills. I will do what is in the best interest of me and my family. Not the GOP!
Sorry, no link. I posted that as it happened on the Senate floor. But there should be plenty of stories on it up now. Go to rtumble.com
Veto Veto Veto !!!
Do you also believe that all undocumented immigrants will be able to get a drivers license if they present insurance, if they have a background check, fingerprints?
Governor:
"Absolutely...yes. This is what we are going to work on. This is what we are going to talk about, but right now the most important thing is to get this passed (the repeal of SB 60) so we can move to other issues. I think Senator Cedillo was extremely gracious and helpful with this whole thing. He is a great leader, he understood what would be the best thing for California; rather than just doing an immediate fix, but to make everybody happy.

gag , retch, vomit,,,
xlation..
Someday, and probably soon, even illegals will have all the rights of citizens, mortgages too. And probably in a 2nd full term when he doesn;t have to run for election again.
A damn shame! I grew up in South Bend. It was a nice place to live in the 60's. There are a hundred towns in California which have degenerated like the one you describe.
