New Orleans Lady SHUTS CNN'S SOLEDAD O'BRIEN DOWN!!!
CNN ^ | Sept. 8, 2005 | self

Posted on 09/08/2005 5:27:28 AM PDT by Poundstone

Anybody just see this lady in New Orleans SHUT DOWN CNN blabbermouth Soledad O'Brien? It was awesome! The lady (whose name I forgot) said her ancestors settled in New Orleans and she's lived there all her life. She said her neighborhood was high and dry, she had running water, and she wasn't going to evacuate. She blasted CNN and the MSM for showing only shots of flooded New Orleans, saying they weren't showing the parts of the city that were dry and inhabitable. Then she blasted the NO city government for failing to implement its own evacuation plan and evacuate inner-city people using buses. O'Brien tried a few times to rebut the "New Orleans lady," but the lady SHUT HER DOWN and seized control of the interview. In the end, O'Brien agreed to take her TV crew to the lady's neighborhood and show that. This was GREAT!!!

My mother lives in SoCal. She called me the other day...and lamented about the hurricane damage, flooding, destruction, etc..etc...

I asked her if she realized that the city will be pumped dry within 3-5 weeks..for the most part. She said.."No, you have it wrong. It will take 5-6 months".

I then asked her if she knew that parts of NO were dry...and weren't heavily damaged. She said, "What are you talking about? The whole city is a disaster!!"

I then told her about volunteers being turned away here in OK....and that some NO residents...refused help. I asked her if she'd heard about the 300-400 buses...that sat idle...while the city flooded. Of course she had heard none of that.

Geesh, I HATE the media......

She always has that 'concerned and angry' look on her face as she ends a segment, as if her last unspoken words were "...and still the President has not responded."

Exactly! That's a perfect description--you've got her pegged.

The LSM is coming undone; they may all follow Dan Rather into retirement sooner than they thought.

Prurient interests supercede mathematical preciseness.

You see, there is more than one way to get replies to ones postings. ;)

Anybody hear Douglas Brinkley on Imus this morning? Disgusting! They are slamming Bush up-down-right-left-in-out, etc. He should have done this...he should have done that...he should have been there sooner...he was on vacation...he was fundraising on that Monday...he doesn't care about black people...America is racist...blah! blah! blah! I don't know how Charles and Bernie can sit there and listen to all that B.S. coming from that old fart Imus. Disgusting that they are willing to put their pocketbooks over principle.

Disgusting! Im-ass I mean!

Why make people move whose homes are high and dry? Good question.

There may be several answers:
1. You could still have looting. And epidemics because of the bad sewer system and contaminated water system.

2.As is true everywhere, the richest parts of society live in the safest places. Politically, you couldn't have the poor uprooted and their houses bulldozed while the well-to-do and middle class watch from their relatively undamaged homes and businesses. It will be a fine line to be drawn about how they will handle the recovery and reclamation of the city.

He said, "I'm a Republican. I'm not a Democrat with my hand out" (and he opened his hand to illustrate).

Alright!!!!

"I was comparing the moronic Soledad to Hemmer. I still think FNC got the better of the deal."

I agree with that but it's a bit like getting poked with a stick in one eye is better than getting it in two.

Aren't the losers fun to watch.

They know the game is over and they're not getting back into office in their lifetime.

I'm just wondering, are they making those people leave so that they can use there homes to house workers police and the troops. Maybe even to house the contractors that come in to rebuild the city. A lot of these homes were high and dry.

Do you support using them for that purpose?

Were the flood gates up on Friday? If she started the evacuation on early friday when the models were pointing to new orleans couldn't she have used the trains.
