No, now Blanco will off Nagin, and everyone will blame CIA...
To: martinidon
They wanted Nagin to be President, but now that he is praising the President? LOL They'll want his tongue slit, or they'll claim Rove got to him.
Either way the man didn't go from cursing the President and saying the CIA was on him, to praising him, without sniffing the political winds. Nagin's out to save himself, and he feels the President is the one that's going to be clean in this so he wants some of his coattails to ride it out.

Right now, it's still Bush's fault, and they're waiting for the nation to take up arms and throw Bush into prison. *sigh* They must have some pretty heavy duty drugs over there.

Just for the record, the massive flooding in New Orleans was not caused by the storm surge. It was caused by water flow through levee breaches from Lake Pontchartrain.
And it's truly naive to expect local buses to move 1/3 of the city in less than 48 hours. Even assuming that everyone was standing and waiting at bus stations with important medicines and papers in hand.

If anything ?
This is a reminder and prelude of what we COULD have happened and almost got in the elections of 2000 and 2004 if Al Gore and John Kerry won.
This is a sober reminder, that we need to THANK GOD that we got President Bush as our leader instead of Al Gore and John Kerry.

How about "While Blanco cried--people DIED"

"And it's truly naive to expect local buses to move 1/3 of the city in less than 48 hours."
Nonsense....they could have made a huge dent in running all those buses 24 hrs/day instead of sitting there getting flooded out. The effort was pitiful no less.

Imagine that, supposed leaders, and political leaders telling people that they can't live in a free society and move and live in any state they chose.
Jessy Jackson saying that those people don't have a right to chose were they want to live, and will be forced to live were the government tells them to, and yet ? this is the USA, not the Soviet Union.

She should see some long prison time for threatening the President of the USA.
But, we know , that Democrats are held to a different standard.

I was appalled by Governor Bianco's comments during the crisis. The first time I saw her on TV in one of those group pressers, I thought she was the head of some agency somewhere in LA. She did not speak like a governor, she did not sound like anyone in charge of anything. She sounded soft and helpless as a kitten, and Landrieu was feeding her lines. My jow DROPPED later when I realized THAT PERSON was the governor.

Your know the Democrats have been hawking this as a 'turning point' in our nation. I think they are not going to like the way the screw turns in the end.

The buses should have been moving 72 hours BEFORE the hurricane hit.
The roads were dry and passable BEFORE the hurricane hit, and with 500 buses, they could have gotten a lot of people out who WANTED to get out, but, many either chose to stay, or refused to evacuate.
To: Nebullis
And it's truly naive to expect local buses to move 1/3 of the city in less than 48 hours. 400 buses, 60 people per load, going to Baton Rouge, can move 480,000 people in 48 hours.
