Former presidents, Bush and Clinton gave a news conference today. Towards the end, as Bush and Clinton were walking off the stage, at about 10:20 am EST, I heard a female reporter shout a last question that went "how do you respond to rumors that the levees were intentionally opened ?"
Speaking to a large crowd in South Philadelphia last night, Nation of Islam leader Louis Farrakhan suggested that the devastation caused by Hurricane Katrina was divine punishment for the violence America had inflicted on Iraq.
"New Orleans is the first of the cities going to tumble down... unless America changes its course," Farrakhan said.
"It is the wickedness of the people of America and the government of America that is bringing the wrath of God down," he told several hundred people at Tinsley Temple United Methodist Church.
His remarks were enthusiastically received.

I heard the same exact thing... It was at 10 or 10:30 EST, was listening to the live coverage VIA C-SPAN and I heard the question "Do you have any comment on the leveys being deliberatly collapsed?"
You could even hear the press core around give up a low rumbling 'uuuuugh' at the suggestion, and then they left the press conference, but if you head over to cspan.org they'll have it up to stream in realplayer, you might be able to see who it was.

I heard this theory too. There was a bond trading firm near the top floor of one of the towers called "Cantor-Fitzgerald." As the story goes, Cantor got a phone call giving him a "heads-up" and decided to stay home from work, whereas poor Fitzgerald (they supposedly made him a partner to make the firm appear more respectable) came to work that day as usual and was never seen again.
I'm close to being rich. All I have to do is pick the correct numbers in the mega-lottery.
