U.S. commercial air carriers continue transporting tens of thousands of evacuees from the New Orleans airport to destinations throughout the nation.

Rooftop air rescue efforts continue. One rescue chopper crashed late today. Crew members are reported safe. Gunmen who fired upon bridge repair contractors were killed by law enforcement.

To date, an estimated 70 countries and U.S. businesses have pledged hundreds of millions of dollars, supplies, food and equipment to assist the United States' efforts in Katrina's aftermath. Lt. General Honore described the damage to Mississippi today, "all infrastructure south of Jackson, MS is either damaged or destroyed." Secretary of State Condoleeza Rice visited the devastated areas, and attended Sunday church services in Mobile, Alabama.

Elsewhere, Sean Penn's rescue boat, sans plug and full of his personal entourage, reportedly sank during launch in New Orleans. Senator Mary Landrieu (D-LA) threatened to punch President Bush, and Jefferson Parish President Broussard decried that the bureaucracy of FEMA has committed murder.

Streaming Video:

All information is subject to change. Many stations are relying on their corporate parents to configure and maintain Internet streaming. Because of the intense interest in the feeds, they may be unavailable at times because of network congestion or a problem feeding the video to the streaming servers.

WWL-TV New Orleans - WWL-TV is operating from studios at Louisiana Public Broadcasting. CBS has a relay during the morning and afternoon. When available, use the CBS relay first as they have greater streaming capacity. They have a secondary stream from Yahoo. WWL-TV is also offering a special low-bandwidth audio-only stream for dial-up users.

WDSU-TV New Orleans - The news staff has started to return to temporary news studios near New Orleans. However, expect evening coverage from Hearst-Argyle sister stations WAPT Jackson and WESH Orlando when the New Orleans staff needs to take a break.

WGNO-TV New Orleans - New Orleans' ABC affiliate has returned to the air with WBRZ-TV and launched video streaming with continuous Katrina coverage.

WPMI-TV Mobile, AL - WPMI is webcasting from 5:30am - 10:30pm CDT. When off air, you can view pre-recorded reports on demand. This feed is often unreliable.

WKRG-TV Mobile, AL - This station is providing good coverage of the situation to the east in Mississippi and Alabama. However, the station is now signing off at around 10:30pm CDT like WWL and WPMI.

WJTV-TV Jackson, MS - The CBS affiliate in Jackson is providing live coverage for both the Jackson area and south Mississippi (knowing a lot of media in that area is off the air).

WFAA-TV Dallas, TX - WFAA-TV is here because Dallas is one of the evacuation cities.

United Radio From New Orleans: WWL-AM, WNOE-FM, "KISS-FM," WRNO-FM, WYLD-FM, and WJBO-AM (Clear Channel & Entercom) who have joined forces as United Radio From New Orleans, and they are streaming.

Gulf Coast Storm Network (Clear Channel Radio) - Clear Channel offers radio listeners across the gulf coast access to a simulcast emergency radio service. This service seems primarily focused on Alabama and Mississippi, but does cover Louisiana to some degree.

Before last week, I didn't want to see the demise of the Democratic Party. As an idea, it provides a balance against bad ideas (in theory) that might come from our side of the fence, and it was what our Founders intended.

After seeing what happened last week and thinking about it some, I can no longer countenance the existence of a party whose members left 250,000 Americans to die in New Orleans through inaction, negligence, and infighting.

The Democratic Party must be exterminated as an effective party. They truly are Nazism under a new flag and new label now.

Then he should have used the media spotlight he was in and publicized the whole thing.

Well, it's not like he had much time to work with. I'm not excusing him. But the published plan was unrealistic, calling for evacuation of outlying parishes, then voluntary evacuation of New Orleans, then mandatory evacuation. That plan was stupid- to carry it out would have taken what, four days? This storm came out of nowhere fast.

It appears the state rigidly followed the plan and used up all the time that should have been used for mandatory evacuations. Nagin was up against the wall: he had one day to perform a mandatory evacuation. With traffic as bad as it was Sunday, he could have only gotten one trip out of the buses- and he didn't have time to force Blanco to open up shelters, even if he went public.

There was a very real chance those buses could have gotten stuck in a traffic jam while the hurricane blew over, or ran out of gas before he could get the riders to shelter.

Nagin isn't innocent, but at the same time, look who he had to work with.

Dear Lord. READ THE POSTS REGARDING ALL OF IT. You have no idea what you're talking about. The claim was that city buses were used to evacuate beforehand--were picking up people all over town and TAKING THEM OUT OF THE CITY OF NEW ORLEANS.

Now, kindly BACK OFF and get educated. Thank you.

Doesn't surprise me. The former mayor, now on the board of the National Urban League was frothing-at-the-mouth with complete idiocy with his blame Bush tripe on MTP on Sunday.

Actually, George Washington advised against political parties, but they were inevitable,,,,and what a sad country this would be if we all thought alike,,,but I really wouldn't mind seeing the downfall of the dems, flipside is that a worse party might emerge,,,,actually, I could handle the green party or the libertarians---

That's true. The plans were evacuate citizens by bus, but the mayor chucked those plans out the window as recently as July of 2005. Stating in a Times-Picayune article 'You're On Your Own'.

All of your suspicions/thoughts are correct. I was active in my cop Union PAC and went on retreats and seminars with Demo speakers spotlighted. They don't like this nation and see it as 99% responsible for all the worlds problems. All of their activities are to undermine us as a nation.

All he had to do is say something like the following in one of the many news conferences that he had:

"I am ordering a mandatory evacuation of the city. Our plan calls for us to bus our citizens to Baton Rouge and other cities out of the strike path; however, our Governor has refused to accept them or open shelters for them. Therefore, I am going before national TV like this to request that the Governor change her mind so that we can save as many of our citizens as possible. In the event that we cannot get everyone out, there are several shelters of last resort in the city..."
