PRESIDENTIAL NEWS OF THE DAY: President Bush and First Lady Laura Bush attended church this morning before visiting the Red Cross Headquarters in Washington. The President also made a statement about the death of Chief Justice William Rehnquist. Mr. Chief Justice Rehnquist spent more than 50 years of service to the nation, 33 of which were at the Supreme Court. During his tenure, William Rehnquist was among the most influential Chief Justices in history. His death creates a rare double opening on the U.S. Supreme Court, giving President Bush the chance to make a significant mark on the federal judiciary.
The President will tour the Gulf Coast disaster area again tomorrow to personally assess progress.

AND they will no doubt adjust the way they word the questions.
Even though the initial polls show that the President has NOT been harmed by the media's idiocy, we must help the President and his team battle the MSM's lies.
I recommend that you e-mail the following article to EVERYONE you know, including RUSH, SEAN HANNITY, LAURA INGRAHAM, GLENN BECK, BILL BENNETT . . . I'll post contact information tomorrow -- I've got social commitments for the rest of this evening!
HURRICANE KATRINA: DON'T BLAME BUSH FOR LOCAL CORRUPTION AND DEMOCRAT INCOMPETENCE
Will Malven
There has been a lot of criticism of President Bush for the handling of the New Orleans disaster and the alleged diversion of funds from the work on the levee, to the Iraq war.
Theres only one problem with this argument, two actually. The representative of the Army Corps of Engineers has stated that the critical Levee work was completed, that it was up to designed specs. The problem is, those specs were for a class three hurricane, not a four or five. Secondly of the funds that were transferred to New Orleans over the last decades, were diverted by the local levee boards to buy a Gambling Casino and a private marina. It would appear that the Big Easys reputation for inept governance and corruption is well deserved.
President Bush has done everything within his power to take care of the disaster area. When he saw that Democrat incompetence was unable to deal with the crisis, he went down to shake things up and get people moving. Within a very few hours of his visit, massive truck convoys began entering the city carrying water and food to those in need. This morning, less than 24 hours after his visit, the buses were flowing into the city to carry people to safety. President Bush had to go down to Louisiana to do the jobs of the Mayors and Governors jobs. Okay, I know that the massive response was mostly coincidental, but if this had occurred during Clintons watch, the MSM would have been saying that very thing.

Night all!
That's right, they need to "blame" the President that they are alive, well-fed and being cared for. If they'd only counted on their state government to help, the victims of Katrina would be just like Nagin's navy...sunk!
tommi, we have been blessed to have this good man as our President. I pray for him every day. He has the weight of the world on his shoulders. I truly hope we can find a successor that will care for our country as much as he does and will carry on his good work even through constant personal attacks.
I agree with you.
Mega dittoes. I have practically all of his podcasts available on disc. I wish that service could have started on the day of the election.
Thank you, and Amen! I pray for him too.
These men, both the English and the Americans, were all professional engineers having completed a four or five year engineering course at a University. In America it would be a Bachelor of Science degree. I am sure the englishmen all had comparable degrees. They would have to be about 21 years old to reach this level and then have several years experience in design on shore before being taken on as petroleum engineers on board a rig. So they were all university graduates in engineering with perhaps different amounts of classical education, thus the disparity in english fluency.
We all got along fine and I enjoyed working with them. One of the things I liked about that work was the camaraderie, and stimulating fellow workers.

You have a lot more discipline than I have.
I need to take a break from TV. (except the 24 marathon is on A&E and even tho I saw it, I'm watching parts of it again.
Don't know it just FROSTS the Democrats to learn that this is not attaching itself to the President.
I saw a brief clip on one of the networks of a woman at the shelter in Houston. She said that she was ignored in New Orleans and it was Texans who saved her....the clip ended with her saying "GOD BLESS TEXAS!"
***but it is time for an upgrade so she can more easily e-mail her comments to media folks that annoy her.***
I LOVE it! Give her a hug for me and tell her to keep emailing the annoying media. GOOD FOR HER!
Congratulations Meg!! And I second that -- GO NAVY!! I was at Great Lakes watching my brother graduate June 10th. He is stationed at Groton, CT now. I was able to visit him a week ago and we had a very sweet time being together again. I really miss him.
Anyway, congratulations again...I feel like we're in the same NAVY family, LOL.

***Well, we all went to strict elementary schools and learned how to read and write and we learned patriotism and ethics.***
And I'll bet they insisted that you had to raise your hand and be called on before you said anything.
And that you didn't get up and wander around the room.
..raise your hand and didn't wander around the room...
exactly! I volunteered to help in my teacher friend's class room.....I was astounded to see the kids get up and walk around or talk to their friends. Boy, school sure has changed....especially since I went to a Catholic school and at that time we had nuns ....
I'll be looking forward to the contact information tomorrow. And thank you for your great work.
Leftist scum is so accurate. Did you hear Mary Landrieu say she wanted to punch the President? These dems. are incorrigible. We should start a thread of all the words we could use to describe the dems. I am sure it would be very therapeutic. :)
