Per AP on the FOX News Channel
NEW ORLEANS - Police shot eight people carrying guns on a New Orleans bridge Sunday, killing five or six of them, a deputy chief said.
Deputy Police Chief W.J. Riley said the shootings took place on the Danziger Bridge, which connects Lake Pontchartrain and the Mississippi River.
He said he had no other details.
Unless this is a completely different incident, I just heard that those shot by the NO police were contractors working for the corps of engineers, per CBS radio news.
"OMG! Bush is killing innocent people now!"
It's genocide! Genocide!
Sorry. I spent some time at DU this afternoon.
OMG.....OMG.
Prayers for their families.
Fox News reporting that Army Corps of engineers had some of their workers shot trying to cross a bridge.
Oh man. That's horrible.
OMG OMG.Army Corps of Engineers report that some of their contractors were killed today by NOLA....
>>AP says US Army Corps of Engineers report it was 6 of their guys shot dead !!!<<
Seriously???
Bad, bad, very, very bad! WTF?
Sounding innocent...
Contractors?
I fail to see the parallel between a humanitarian response to a natural disaster (for the USA, in New Orleans), and the victory over, and defeat of the worlds 4th largest military (Against Iraq, in Baghdad).
Granted, there are humanitarian advantages to liberating Iraq from it's dictator, but the military objective of defeating the former Iraqi military was done with heavy armor on the ground and crushing air power.
I for one, am very happy to see that more than 90+% of the people in the NG in NO now have served their tour in Iraq and are now home to serve their grateful country.
The isolationist, appeasement based liberals where wrong about it being an either/or proposition.
Isn't it also ironic that the very same anti-military folks cry and howl and beg for the military to help, and then spit in the face of those who help by insulting them and their mission?
lol. That's "fragill-eh" to you. ;>
I'm numb.
Maybe Army Corps of Engineers???
Ouchhhhhhh....me too. Terrible news.
Damn, I assumed it was bad guys.
Oh no...
Fox News just reporting that there was a group of contractors with the Army Corps of Engineers who were fired on and members of the entourage were killed - on a bridge. Trying to find out if this is the same group.
Army Corps of Engineers says contractors shot by police. Holy sh*t.
