Sen. Mary Landrieu threatened the president of the United States with physical violence on Sunday, saying that if he or any other government official criticizes New Orleans police for failing to keep civil order in the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina - "I might likely have to punch him - literally."
"If one person criticizes [our sheriffs], or says one more thing, including the president of the United States, he will hear from me - one more word about it after this show airs and I - I might likely have to punch him - literally," Landrieu railed on "ABC's "This Week."
It is illegal to threaten the president with physical violence.
The Louisiana Democrat blasted Bush for neglecting the New Orleans levees, and demanded that he stop using the disaster for "photo-ops."
"The president came here yesterday for a photo-op," Landrieu charged, while surveying the disaster scene via helicopter with "This Week" host George Stephanopoulos in tow. "He got his photo-op but we are never going to get this fixed if he does not send us help now."
Landrieu also blamed Bush for cutting funding for levee improvement, before bursting into tears on camera.
In recent days, Louisiana officials have been criticized for bungling evacuation and rescue efforts. One of those officials, Lt. Gov. Mitch Landrieu, is Sen. Landrieu's brother.
The Secret Service will be in touch shortly.
Im afraid Rove will advise Bush to live and let live, and brush off the Senator's reckless remarks
Thanks, and good for you, O! Your focus on results (rather than appearances) is characteristic of the wise--and the non-Leftists, but I repeat myself.
You buy your new bride an icebox.
What these politicians have done to this state before and after the hurricane is despicable. I remember the unity we had as a country on 9-11 and I look at this situation now. As different as day and night. The deaths in my state are squarely on the shoulders of our corrupt and hateful officials. And to blame Bush goes beyond the pale. How I detest them for the hatred they spew, and for causing others to feel so negative toward my state. We are a laughing stock, and an embarrassment around the world.
There does need to be a reckoning for them for what they have wrought.
What makes you think that! Let;s see: the governor or the state, the mayor of NAWLINS and now a US Senator. Oh, let's include the Lt. Governor who is here in Texas weeping with the victims.
So let me get this straight. Landrieu will punch Bush if he says "one more thing," and Bush is responsible for the levees failing.
I'm so angry right now I can hardly type. Democrats have to be stopped. They are monsters. They call good evil and evil good.
I used to think they were misguided, but no longer. Landrieu's comments were calculated and deliberately target the one person who should least be blamed in this. And why? For political gain. At a time like this.
Democrats have no decency, no integrity, and no shame.
AMEN, Glenmerle... my feelings exactly! >:-(
Please FReepmail me if you want on or off my miscellaneous ping list.
Make my day bitch from hell.
;-)
As it's always been.
The Landrieu moonbat has finished off almost all of my compassion. Fortunately, there is an alternative. See if this might work for you:

Well that explains her complete about face. On Monday and Tuesday, during the throes of the disaster, she had nothing but praise for our President and his efforts in getting the ball in motion prior on Saturday, two days before the hurricane hit. Suddenly her brother and other State Official's incompetence has her singing a different tune.
Thanks for the ping which I saw after my comment.
Where were the buses, Mary, that you always have on election day, to take the poor people of NO to the poles to vote for you????
Hi Carl!! :)
No, Hitlery wouldn't break down and cry....she'd curse and throw ash trays and lamps at people!! LOLOLOL!!!
Hugh Hewitt asked on Friday if the DUmbocRAT finger pointers are having another "Wellstone Memorial Moment"?
It's worth considering.
BTW stay away from CNN unless you're a masochist, don't ask me why, I don't have time to list all the reasons. LOL.
Wait, you forgot, if the President steps in an declares a state of emergency over the governor, he gets h*ll for overriding a woman, and if he takes over in NO he gets h*ll for overriding a black!!
"The Louisiana Democrat blasted Bush for neglecting the New Orleans levees"
The levees that broke are canal levees. They are not under the jurisdiction of the Corps of Engineers. If Bush would have given 12 trillion dollars to the Corp, those levee would have broken anyway because "The Levee Board of New Orleans" builds, maintains and pays for the canal levees.
