28,000 National Guard troops are deployed to the disaster areas in Mississippi, Alabama, and to Louisiana, where SWAT teams are working to combat the looters and shooters in New Orleans. Additional 1400 National Guard troops are being deployed daily.

Shootings reported at a New Orleans hospital, rescue boats, and a military helicopter, while conditions continue to deteriorate at the SuperDome amid refugee deaths and chaos. Evacuation of New Orleans continues.

House Speaker Dennis Hastert has voiced serious doubts about rebuilding New Orleans with federal funds, while assuring the people of Louisiana, Mississippi, Alabama and Florida that the United States Congress stands ready to help them in their time of need. New Orleans Mayor C. Ray Nagin issued a "desperate SOS."

Doctors at two desperately crippled hospitals in New Orleans called The Associated Press Thursday morning pleading for rescue, "We have been trying to call the mayor's office, we have been trying to call the governor's office ... we have tried to use any inside pressure we can. We are turning to you. Please help us," said Dr. Norman McSwain, chief of trauma surgery at Charity Hospital, the largest of two public hospitals.

The Port of New Orleans is now open to shallow draft vessels. Congress is reconvening in an emergency session. International offers to assist the U.S. have been received from Russia, Japan, Canada, France, Honduras, Germany, Venezuela, Jamaica, Australia, the United Kingdom, the Netherlands, Switzerland, Greece, Hungary, Colombia, the Dominican Republic, El Salvador, Mexico, China, South Korea, Israel, the United Arab Emirates, NATO and the Organization of American States.

Fox reporting firefighters being held hostage.
last night a Salvation Army person said he had quite a few employees in a building that they couldn't get out and they were dying.

I can't recall how many but it seems like it was over 100.

Gotta have air to run . . . lots of air. . . and some place to send the exhaust that doesn't create a lot of back pressure. In non-flood prone areas they are generally on or near the loading dock because there's usually good air circulation there.

I think in a flood zone you simply have to do the extra structural and HVAC engineering and put them up out of reach of the water. But that is very expensive . . . "pay me now or pay me later."

Thanks so much,

I'm going to email this to each of my local news stations and have them inform their viewers just what martial law means to the people of NO.

In following these many threads, I know Nagin declared martial law earlier this week. Tuesday maybe? It was well before the criminals in jail were let free because by law they couldn't be kept under inhumane conditions. So they shouldn't have been set free because under martial law citizens have no civil rights. Nagin, by himself, bears responsibility for letting convicted criminals loose on NO.
Correct?

But then I thought I read that Nagin rescinded the martial law order. So, martial law has been reinstated?

I'm confused. I need help with the martial law time line for the whole week. I want Nagin held responsible for loosing convicted criminals on his suffering citizens.

the locals/state have been out of the loop since the moment this started. this is one of the major problems, FEMA was not designed to to come into an anarchist situation - no police, no command structure, police fleeing their posts, moonbat mayors and governors, etc.

This will soon be called "The Gulf War" III.

Different "Gulf", this time.

The President was engaged before the storm hit. Again, you are falling victim to media cover up. The President called the leadership in the to be affected states. States of emergency were declared before the storm hit. The Gov of LA admitted the President called her to have a mandatory evacuation of NO. You can't be more engaged than that.
