Thank you, NN.
Well who'd have ever thought I'd have to consider watching the regular news instead of the growing competition between Shep, Cooper, Harrigan et al to see who can paint the bleakest picture. I'm actually watching Matthews on MSNBC (and by so doing have doubled his normal viewership) and have to say his coverage at least tonight has been pretty reasonable. Anything is better than hearing Shep say for the thousendth time "...and NOBODY is telling them where to go or what to do".
I agree and people are free to feel emotions even if they do know what is going on. I almost cried today because my windshield cracked from a crack that had been fixed weeks ago. It is too big to repair, and I have a $500 deductible for windshield replacement and am on a tight budget. Is it the end of the world? No, but it was stressful for me. I am not grieving over it, but I am still annoyed. My heart breaks for those in N.O. and the rest of the Gulf that lost their lives, their safety, and/or everything they own, though. I am thankful for what I have, especially the health and safety of my family.
CNN has shrimp fisherman story on now how he survived.
I LOVE the first part of that sentence.....
that's an amazing story! Please ping me to the update.
not only that---the people in the little mississippi towns that so desperately need help won't shoot at the police and help when they come--i guarantee you that
I do believe that Moon Landrieu would have been disappointed with what Mary Landrieu and company have done to his city...
The cops should shoot the looters who do that, mark the word looter on their corpse and move on IMO.
Well at least they're not underwater.
You are so right about the hype on cable. There is much good stuff going on but we are only getting the worst news. I want to throw something at Shep every now and then, up on the bridge, saying there is no water, yet there are people behind him holding big bottles of water. Plus if no one had water for three days in that heat, they would be dropping all around him. And so far, he has only shown us one such case.
Help is on the way; we are doing everything possible. We will see some uplifting stories and grateful people eventually.
I would call for the resignation of the LA governor except the LT. Gov is Sen. Mary Landrau's brother!!!
O'REILLY: .. and they got, you know, pretty heavy-duty weaponry. We also hear reports that some of the police have been looting. That is posted on the New Orleans Picayune's website, the newspaper in town. So, I don't know whether this situation is totally out of control or not. It's hard to ascertain that but what's your best guess?

Harrigan is doing an excellent job. he is showing the truth, look at him now with all these stranded people. no one is coming for them with buses, they are just sitting there along the road, fearful of how bad it will get as they stay through the night. why sugar coat that?

they are still dying----do people not get that?????
I removed your #88 because it contained Getty Image(s). Please be more careful in the future. Thanks.
It is kind of difficult to comprehend why law enforcement officers would be commandeering shoes and children's toys, I suppose ...
People need to understand that pain is pain no matter what the degree, even if there are others in worse shape that you are. If I had been you I probably would have cried. I cried over a 500.00 brake job at Christmas.
I am not excusing the stealing some of the cops did, but as I understand it, the NO police have the right by law to "take" whatever they need to exist and do their work.
That's an incredible story. He should call in to CNN or FOX if he is successfull.
