TAMPA BAY, August 31, 2005 (LifeSiteNews.com) - Ten year-old Joshua Heldreth, the eldest of eight children, was arrested on Good Friday of this year for trespassing while attempting to bring a drink of water to Miss Terri Schaivo. Days later Schiavo died of intentional dehydration. In court Joshua pleaded guilty and was sentenced to 25 hours of community service and ordered to write an apology for his actions.
The boy whose arrest photo was splashed on front pages of newspapers across the nation wrote in his apology letter, "I was arrested on Good Friday for trespassing on the hospice center's property . . . Not giving Mrs. Shiavo (sic) food or water was wrong. The reason I had to go on your property was because Jesus would do the same thing. It made me sad that she was so thirsty and it made Jesus sad too. I knew she would die without water and I am called by Jesus to be a defender of the defenceless. So I had to go on your property to try to bring her a drink."
Joshua added, "I am sorry that you didn't like that and wouldn't allow me to help save her life and one day you will have to tell God why. I won't be able to help you then like I tried to help her. I will pray for you every day . . ."
LifeSiteNews.com caught up with Joshua's father Scott Heldreth today. Scott told LifeSiteNews.com he is very proud of his son. "My son has amazed me through this whole thing," said Heldreth. The proud father said it was his son's own initiative to attempt to give the starving woman a glass of water, and despite the warning of his parents that he'd be arrested, the boy insisted. "He was the one who begged us to go down, because he wanted to give her a glass of water . . . We explained that police will never let you help . . . you'll be arrested, but he went anyways."
Pro-life leader Rev. Flip Benham of Operation Save America told LifeSiteNews.com that the whole pro-life movement shares Heldreth's pride in his son. Benham recalls the reaction of Heldreth on Good Friday as he watched his son being arrested: "When that all took place Scott was weeping, this father was weeping tears of joy seeing his son not only talk the Christian talk but walk the walk."
While the apology letter has been submitted, Heldreth told LifeSiteNews.com he's not completely sure it will be accepted.

This ten year old boy was arrested for trying to give a dieing lady a sip of water but the 18 year old who stole a bus is on talk shows and is a hero.
I dont wish to debate the rights or wrongs of stealing that bus and getting those people out of NO yet I find it odd that one is arrested and one is a hero. The ten year old is much more of a hero in my book.
Please do it fast and completely. We nearly lost custody of our handicapped son to the State when his birthday approached and nobody had warned us that if in the custody of the State at that date, we would have lost him. A social worker with a conscience leaked to us what was coming up and we had to appear in Court to petition for his custody. He had only been in the facility temporarily to supposedly get therapy.
Of course if you are Michael or Eliza (The OTHER Eliza) they will bend over backwards to ignore.
Dreaded words, "We are from the Government and we are here to help you."

That's hard for me to compare. Like apples and oranges. I consider the bus "thief" a hero too. I hope I raised my son to bring water to those who need it, or bring the people to the water if necessary.
bttt in Terri's memory and for Scott Thomas. I thought David Gibb, Esq. was going to help Scott, or was that just the lady stuck in Georgia who ended up dying of natural causes?
A dictatorship of judges has already arrived. It's just not reached saturation point yet. It has reached FLORIDA unfortunately.
On the other hand, Medicaid of Florida had gobs of money to cover up Terri's murder. Both states have some splainin' to do.
a troll's a troll's a troll even if they aren't outwardly disruptive. Terri's dead but trolls who may be protecting the renegade diocese of Bishop Lynch need to justify her murder whenever they can.
I was an army of 1. I bumped into a lot of other kind, God fearing, some atheists, thoughtful, articulate, intelligent, determined Terri supporters along the way. That we all ended up in the same place BECAUSE WE FULLY REALIZED that TERRI WAS BEING MURDERED was an example of grassroots activism to right a wrong, to put public awareness on an issue that determines the future of this nation.
When a society devalues its citizens by MANDATING THEIR EXTERMINATION like Terri's murder, it is a sign that our civilization is declining. Could it be any clearer that now more have died at a convention center in NO, lulled there because they were told they would get water and food there. THE CULTURE OF DEATH AND THE CULTURE OF INDIFFERENCE murdered Terri and now took lives in a football "dome" (I said pre-Katrina that was a bad idea) and a convention center. It became a CONVENTION OF DOOM. MICHAEL BROWN WAS REMOVED JUST NOW FROM FEMA. I blame govt at every level, not just Brown. His unawareness of people dying from dehydration was inexcusable. Someone should have been watching the news, including FEMA, not just us.
PLEASE REMEMBER THAT: Books by SHILLS FOR HINO are being penned by evil left wingers who are of the same ilk as the judges who murdered her.
Let's hope that MICHAEL S. doesn't get nominated to run FEMA. With his connections with the rinos, it wouldn't surprise me.
FYI: New FEMA DIRECTOR - Admiral Thad Allen. That's what we need a military person who can commandeer the military assets to save lives, etc. The scope of the disaster demands operational experience.
FV how much outrageous flauting of our values will it take until people finally say enough? In the case of Scott, it is so blatent one would think they would not have the guts to try. But as long as people turn their heads these death merchants ply their trade in safety.

We should be glad that Sandra Day O' Connor is leaving. She stated in this article that Terri supporters "strongarmed" the judicial system (WHILE THE JUDGES WERE MURDERING AN INNOCENT WOMEN? Get real, Sandra Day!

I bet she didn't choose torture for herself.
Meanwhile, notice that Jeb Bush is nowhere to be seen unless it's about hurricanes.
Still needs juice.
For instance, 100 BLACK-ROBED SPACE ALIENS FROM HELL INVADE FLORIDA, PUT ON NAZI JACKBOOTS, JUMP UP AND DOWN ON THE POOR, THE DISABLED AND CUTE PUPPIES, COMMIT STATE SPONSORED MURDER, DENY GLOBAL WARMING AND SLAUGHTER BABY HARP SEALS. (And Deborah Bushnell is #37 on the List)
This helps the reader know what's going on and which side to choose.
Sandra also made comments to the effect of supporting world opinion over our Constitution in making her decisions. I had a clipping about it but cannot find it.
Whenever I get that kind of glums, I turn to this little essay by A. J. Nock. This was written in 1937 and it's still doing its job. Happily, it is posted on many web sites.
But she sneered at the Pope and millions of others around the world who supported Terri's right to life. In her view, their opinion means nothing. For that matter, the rights of life and liberty -- affirmed in the Declaration of Independence and Bill of Rights -- mean nothing to her either.
"We are moving towards a dictatorship of judges."
After seeing a little county judge's ruling prove all-powerful over the Governor and all the way to D.C.{ including the President} I'm thinking we're already there.
We the people [the voters]need to kick these judges out after one 2-4 year term. No retaining of judges. I, for one am tired of paying for their retirements.
