TAMPA BAY, August 31, 2005 (LifeSiteNews.com) - Ten year-old Joshua Heldreth, the eldest of eight children, was arrested on Good Friday of this year for trespassing while attempting to bring a drink of water to Miss Terri Schaivo. Days later Schiavo died of intentional dehydration. In court Joshua pleaded guilty and was sentenced to 25 hours of community service and ordered to write an apology for his actions.
The boy whose arrest photo was splashed on front pages of newspapers across the nation wrote in his apology letter, "I was arrested on Good Friday for trespassing on the hospice center's property . . . Not giving Mrs. Shiavo (sic) food or water was wrong. The reason I had to go on your property was because Jesus would do the same thing. It made me sad that she was so thirsty and it made Jesus sad too. I knew she would die without water and I am called by Jesus to be a defender of the defenceless. So I had to go on your property to try to bring her a drink."
Joshua added, "I am sorry that you didn't like that and wouldn't allow me to help save her life and one day you will have to tell God why. I won't be able to help you then like I tried to help her. I will pray for you every day . . ."
LifeSiteNews.com caught up with Joshua's father Scott Heldreth today. Scott told LifeSiteNews.com he is very proud of his son. "My son has amazed me through this whole thing," said Heldreth. The proud father said it was his son's own initiative to attempt to give the starving woman a glass of water, and despite the warning of his parents that he'd be arrested, the boy insisted. "He was the one who begged us to go down, because he wanted to give her a glass of water . . . We explained that police will never let you help . . . you'll be arrested, but he went anyways."
Pro-life leader Rev. Flip Benham of Operation Save America told LifeSiteNews.com that the whole pro-life movement shares Heldreth's pride in his son. Benham recalls the reaction of Heldreth on Good Friday as he watched his son being arrested: "When that all took place Scott was weeping, this father was weeping tears of joy seeing his son not only talk the Christian talk but walk the walk."
While the apology letter has been submitted, Heldreth told LifeSiteNews.com he's not completely sure it will be accepted.

Yes! It is hard to imagine that life could return to normal for them -- for Jodi, that is. She saw Terri. She knew Terri was "in there." She can rationalize all day long, but she knows the truth and it will give her no peace.
Michael promised to marry her, so she has intense personal knowledge that he killed Terri for her. She's guilty too and she knows it. She could have stopped the execution herself, couldn't she? But she didn't speak out.
Jodi also knows Michael could have been free to marry her simply by divorcing Terri. Therefore he had ulterior motives in killing her -- such as grabbing her estate. Or worse, covering up a crime in 1990.
Yes, I'd say Jodi has some demons that will never go away.
From time to time in my posts, I remind Jodi to sleep with her back to the wall. It is a classic feminine conceit to deny that if he cheats for you, he'll cheat on you. I fancy that goes for wife murders too.

You are so right on the buddhist/whatever guy. I find irony that people from such unexpected sources still could see through to the truth, although they probably do more harm than good.
My jaw dropped to the ground when I found at my side in Pinellas Park an impassioned supporter who introduced herself to me as a wiccan.
I might want to name my own book one day STATE SPONSORED MURDER but the truth would just sound less believable than fiction.

But when you think about it, we are all alike. We are all human. We all have a conscience. No matter how bizarre the philosophy or ideology we adopt, underneath it we all know good and evil, right and wrong, and we all want to be good.
Besides, every once in a blue moon, feelings trump intellectual rigor and consistency :-)

I once read that Jodi's living will stipulates that she not be deprived of life sustaining/prolonging intervention if she has to be hospitalized from her sleep apnea. I'd say that she has things she has to worry about.
Yes, her demons will never go away. Neither will Michael's. They'll live with them every day.
It doesn't look that way to me. I don't remember reading much on WND that was pro-Michael, so I can't imagine that they would put out a book that was strictly from his point of view.

The corruption is so pervasive that it's embarassing to be from Florida. A disabled woman was murdered in a red state. That just doesn't seem just or legal but that it happened in a red state makes one wonder where compassionate conservatives call home. It's not here except for Terri's supporters who are still advocating better laws, honest judges and definitely, we need changes in Florida so that CERTAIN ATTORNEYS DON'T HAVE A SYSTEM TO GAME, JUDGES TO SHOP FOR AND FLA SENATORS TO BUY OFF. And that's just the tip of the iceberg.
