Mrs. DFU, who works for Verizon, gave me the news today that Verizon will double the relief donation of any employee who gives to the Katrina victim relief effort.
That is great news. The company is large enough to make a big impact in the effort.
If you are a Verizon employee, make sure to give through work.
( Am I allowed to suggest this? If you know a Verizon employee, give them your money to contribute. :)
BTW....Nice call to Mark Levin last night, Doug. ;o)
How many billions did we just give for the withdrawl of those 8,000 people from Gaza?
Seems that money would be better spent at home right now...
Thanks. Glad you heard it.
I work for a company that works for Verizon.
And I have seen them time and again step up to the plate to help America.
As bad a rap that Corporate America gets sometimes, there are still those companies that are willing to forgo profits in order to do some good out there.
I count Verizon among them.
Verizon laid me off (and many others) in 01 after I was there for six years, so I am a teensy-weensy bit bitter still! ; ) I still have their cell service, though, so obviously not too mad (ended up being a very good career move). Good to hear they are contributing.
Billions?
That money should be put to use to help those here at home instead.
Spoke to friend (Verizon employee)in South Carolina this afternoon and he told me the same thing. Said they did it for the Tsunami, that kind of forced them to do it for this.
I hope people donate their money through a Verizon employee.
