Hate to say this, but I don't see that they could have done anything else. The ONE hospital that's still working in the NO area is swamped, and there's about no way to get to it anyway...
Honestly, that was so sad, wasn't it? A woman's life partner, her husband, died at her feet, and she was asked to simply push him aside. I am not sure how it could have been handled better under the circumstances. But gosh, how sad.
