President Bush: "We are dealing with one of the worst national disasters in our nation's history." Push has appropriated vast federal resources to assist with the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina.
78,000 people are currently in shelters. New Orleans evacuation continues. 10,000 additional National Guard troops have been called to service.
Hospitals are running low on supplies, and public health concerns include water borne disease, poor sanitation, food and drinking water contamination and shortages, mosquitoes, carbon monixide poisoning from electricity generators, lack of childcare, and the special needs of the elderly.

I think that the hospital staff might not know the differce between shots fired, and an "attack" on the hospital. I think people in the hospital have heard the same rumors as we have read on here (because they obviously have phone service) I think people are on edge.
Yea. O.k. They're stupid your smart. I get it.
Uh, I know all about "this site" and your friend "cajungirl" started the caps lock screaming and personal attacks so why don't you tell it to her, k? Good girl.
She is pretty bad. Definately in over her head, no pun intended.
I am listening to WDSU live stream. you can hear some kind of demonstration in the background. sounds like a woman screaming into a megaphone.
Earlier they were interviewing people of color on the street. It was really interesting. They were screaming at the camera about not getting food and water and acting all outraged like they were being purposely denied.
The arrogance of these people, they really think they should be waited on hand and foot.
Anyway, the governor is struggling.
Not good in a crisis.
God Bless you & your family!
The scanner report that a ferry pilot was shot...
"Time out everyone......"
Hide the bong. Dad's home
pssst. She is in Louisana.
LOL!!
Me neither til I read it on the WWL source.
That last segment on CNN did it for me.
IMO, they are inciting a riot with their lies.
Where are you now?
Living in the mountains is nice
The MSM won't care unless a fairy pilot is shot.
Real smooth...insult another freeper to make your point.
Prayers for you, whether you can read this or not.
I missed the Prez earlier. What was his message? Are we supposed to limit our gas usage?
LOL!
Here's a get around. "Drop the gun, put your hands in the air, or you meet you maker.... This is your only warning"
Looter scum will either:
a. Drop the gun
b. turn and try to shoot
Self defense.
How are things there in Ridgeland/Jackson area? Are things still fairly calm?
(Sorry if you've already reported....I've been away.)
"To: All
Col Whitehorn State Police:
On Rioting:
We are getting rumor after rumor, and it causing us to divert resources from rescue and other operations.
Ansering a question about murders:
We are aware of a couple of shooting incidents, one police officer being shot, and perhaps that idividual being killed but that's it."
Ask Col Tinhorn how come the busses to Houston haven't cleared out the crowd around the SD I see on live TV right now.
Or don't, you already know what the answer will be.
"There is no mayhem in Baton Rouge.
There is no mayhem in New Orleans.
There is no mayhem, not even anywhere."
They are either in heavy denial or just trying to keep the lid on.
