Please don't let that discourage you from giving. These people are just a few when compared to the many good people who need help very badly.
Hopefully we're not as racist as the Yahoo photo caption writers.
They don't have the balls
and the media will be making excuses
how long did they let the LA riots go on?
man you got that right
Nagin and Blanco are inept.
Has martial law been declared yet?
And wouldn't you think that a city and state which knew this to be a possibility for decades on end would have some sort of protocol in order, beginning with the ominous forecast 2+ days ahead?
To me this looks like a rough approximation of what might occur in nuclear terrorist attack, and it ain't real confidence-inspiring.
All I can say is: Big Military Fort and Seasoned Troops.
On the ground, this has become bigger than just the National Guard. Media hasn't asked the right questions yet.
"Sen. Mary Landrieu's helicopter was taking off Tuesday for a flyover of the devastation and she watched as a group of people smashed a window at a gas-station convenience store and jumped in."
Wasn't Jeb Bush on the ground helping out when last year's hurricane hit Florida? How much more beautiful-people-esque can you get than flying 'your' helicopter (whosever it is) over the devastation?
Is Cindy Sheehan still in the ditch?
Send all the flight school attrites who are being let go from the navy. Ill go do katrina relief.
Everyone should be happy she's off doing her own thing. Just think of what would happen if she was in a war room somewhere, directing relief and rescue efforts. I don't even want to think about it.
I fervently hope she and the mayor graciously stand aside and leave the pros to make the critical decisions.
Leni
LOL... groveling in the ditch?
When you said this...
The old WWII Higgins Boats would be perfect for parts of New Orleans and Biloxi.
...you reminded me that the National D-Day Museum is (or was) located in New Orleans. It was founded by Stephen Ambrose, in dedication to Mr. Higgins who designed and built those magnificent WW II landing craft.
I suppose that museum is severely damaged or gone forever now.
I can't stand Landrieu the abortion worshipper and election stealer either. But there isn't much "ground" for anyone to stand on in this case. This isn't Florida where there is ground to hand out ice like Jeb and GW Bush did last year. New Orleans is now 90% underwater.
Shoot first, early and often. Leave nothing but empty brass behind.
Praying is good, but the Governor is an abject failure as a leader, Maggie Thatcher she ain't. The mayor is also a useless pud.
Incompetent, and cannot even define leadership, much less practice it.
Damn right. hold off of any donation until law and order is restored, and these vermin are executed. A little earlier I was of mind to say do not punish the innocent, but the innocent will be taken care of by government $$. What I'm seeing is disgusting, and it seems a certain minority are the savages behind this lawlessness. clearly less evolved than the rest of mankind.
new and improved 'Puff the Magic Dragon'
AC-130 "Spectres"
close enough and fair enough
AC-130 "Spectres" are the newest generation of "Puff".
My niece told us yesterday she was being deployed to Mississippi when she finishes up her FL relief detail.
((( God go with you J... )))
BTTT....no doubt
