Thanks.
We still have missing kinfolk in the Slidell area and all we know is their house was totaled. And to hear someone whining about the tone of the President's words FGS. Well. I don't need platitudes or lip biting from him - I just needed to know what he is going to do. Period.
My brother just moved from Slidell this summer and back to IL. They are trying to contact their next door neighbor in Slidell who decided to stay home during the storm.
And the whining about our great President's tone makes me wanna hurl, especially in the face of this terrible, unfolding tragedy, and heartache of so many Americans. And when President Bush listed all the help already on its way to the area, he said: "And that's just a START."
Dang: Whiners write an earmarked CHECK already. THEN whine, if they must.
Priorities and perspective....
I've had strong remembrances of searching through the night for relatives we could not find after a tornado..My heart goes out to all those who have not heard from or about their relatives..Lack of ability to connect by phone is terrible..
My family was taking shelter with another person who had a roof to his apartment...but there was no way to call and tell us they were OK. All we found after hours of searching was their heavily damaged apartment, our cousin's house with the entire back of the house, roof, and a 3 car garage totally missing ...gone with the wind. They all chose the right bathroom to survive in..
I hope you can find news soon.
