If that is the case, there may be 40 times the deaths and a great, great deal more physical damage than 9/11.
By the way, I was a little disappointed in the Prez in his speech this afternoon, in that he really didn't press, rally, and prompt the American people to band together and sacrifice for this horrible event. He was a little flat. I think the people would be more than willing. He has to ask.
We have no idea yet how many have died. Many areas have had no communications at all. I'll be surprised if there are less than 1000 dead - I'll be similarly surprised if it is more than 10,000 - but no one has any educated guess yet.
Flat? He was meat and potatoes but you wanted wine.
Ask? He DID ask and even told you how to designate your contribution.
I wanted information from GWB and he delivered.
Sorry, but your post is pathetic. The President has done a fabulous job, planning, executing and getting all the oars in the water.
If you wanted fake tears and grandstanding, look at some tapes of Clinton if you have any.
I was very impressed by the speech. Short, businesslike and to the point. No histrionics.
Disagree. I will however say that the mayor of NOLA and the governor of LA have been flat-footed throughout this whole fiasco. Hindsight will show they both could have ceased the moment for a little glory, score some political points, yet they both voluntarily refused the opportunity by being incompetant and lazy.
