President Bush to address the nation on Hurricane Katrina...has flown by the damage on Air Force One on way back to D.C.
"Thank you for being hte voice of reason."
Wow, I been accused of a lot of things in mytime here on FR but never of being reasonable...must be getting more level headed in my old age(36) hehehe.
Just beware of me on Illegal Immigration threads....I lose all sense of reasonable-ness.
Did anyone get the number of those in shelters he stated? I was in the midst of posting, and missed that number.
Thank Goodness and God Bless the Military !!!
Surprisingly enough, did you hear that Russia and Germany offered to help today? Shocked me.
Governor Perry of Texas up on FNC. Great guy..good looking, articulate, moves quickly, organized.
Gov Perry just said 23,000 to astrodome
We'll survive and be better for it.
I thank the President. We needed to hear that. Not only words of comfort, but of detailed action.
I did not get that feeling at all. He said what needed to be said at this time.
Maybe they can restart the refinery in Meridian.
Another thing: I hope EVERYBODY on this forum is watching what is going on in those states and REVISING their lists of things to have in case of a diaster.
I hope so.
The next thing we need is relaxation/suspension of regulations of refinery construction.
Lots of little ones, a couple great big ones, I don't care. Git'er done.
I will lose it!
Better stock up on Prozac.
That's fine, if I don't avoid the immigration threads it's my own fault! No worries!
Watching Gov. Perry of Texas on Fox. Superdome survivors being transferred to Harris County, Houston, Astrodome. 23,000 people in Superdome acc. Gov. Perry coming to Astrodome.
Please! Thank God for those willing to take in those displaced by this tragedy.
Mo1, you know they are going to do so. Let loose on their wretched souls when they do.

Sh*t, they cn build one in my backyard for all I care. Just get it done!
My mom was pretty upset too. She saw that same footage. I saw similar footage out of WWLTV Link showing hundreds of despondent lookng people boarding National Guard trucks with no water being shipped off to God knows where with no food and water. Even the Guardsmen with them weren't sure where they were going. You can see the interviews with the link I provided. I am sure they will replay it.
So true. The presidency is a heavy burden in the best of times, and these aren't the best.
I pray often for this good man and his family.
A president has to sacrifice much of his personal priorities, and even after he leaves office, life is never the same, will never be as private, as simple.
Leadership is indeed hard service.
