Neil Conan interviewed Cindy Sheehan on Talk of the Nation yesterday. In this interview Ms. Sheehan is evasive, deceptive and appears to lie or make things up. In the end, she quickly pretends she has phone problems and informs Neil she has only 2 minutes left. NPR had booked her for the entire segment.
She ended the interview when she got mad at a question Neil asked her about her first meeting with President Bush. I recorded the interview from this link and amplified the off phone comment she appeared to make to someone with her in crawford. Her cheapshot comment goes to the root of the type of person cindy is.
It's amazing to me that she'd be so hostile in such a friendly environment as NPR! What is really funny, is that after feigning cell phone reception problems and ending the interview, Neils next guest was a father who lost a son in Fallujah and is protesting Cindy. He recites an experience he had with Cindy where she FAKED bad cell phone reception with him...
She's such a sleaze...
Here is a partial transcript:
CS: Ummm
Ive talked about this a lot. Do we have to talk about this? Do you have any questions about whats going on right now or what were gonna do in the future?
NC: Im just curious; Ive not heard your answer to this.
CS: Um, excuse me?
NC: Ive not heard your answer, if you wouldnt mind.
CS [saying to someone in the backround): This guy's a dick.
CS: I have two minutes.
NC: [amazed] You have two minutes.
CS: I have two minutes so
he wasGeorge Bush acted like we were at a tea party, he was rude to us, and we felt worse than we did after we met with him.
NC: Mm hmm. Um, I didnt realize you just had two minutes. We thought we had more time with you today, but, uh
I did want to ask. I know youre planning to, when President Bush comes back to Washington, youre planning to continue the protest here in Washington D.C.
I'm tired of people giving this evil anti-American a pass because she's a supposed grieving mother. Yes, Americans are a forgiving people, and yes, we can all understand abnormal behavior during the stressful stages of grief, but al-Sheehan went way too far a long, long time ago. The polling released yesterday shows she has had no net influence on public opinion, but she has managed to mobilize her anti-base--us. And it takes an awful lot to get us mobile. Al-Sheehan will prove to be for the anti-American left the equivalent of bin Laden's 9-11 attacks--the last straw.

If the public only realized how truly obnoxious (not to mention stupid, hypocritical, phony, and treasonous) she is. Drudge and Rush need to get this clip and expose this hag once and for all.
I am hoping it will be on Fox News later today. They did report on conversation.
Laura Ingraham had it on her show yesterday.
That was her prayer service!!!!!
Cindy Sheehan is exploiting the death of her son out of her hatred for America.
she needs to don a burka and move to Afghanistan/Iran/wherever and experience their version of 'freedom' where she can be beaten for revealing as much as an eyeball.
How long before she is sobbing for the days when she had her flippin' freedom to dis her country, dis her government, and basically be a complete moron in public?
she makes me sick. her whiney, holier-than-thou, self-righteous exploitation of her son makes me sick. her callous use of ANY military death makes me sick.
/ rant (for now!)
I bet Neil gets a do-better letter from NPR
Where's Bono?
You rock, Dirk! Great catch. THIS is why I enjoy Free Republic so much. Nothing exposes the Looney Liberals more than the truth.
I've reached a point where I cannot even force myself to listen to that whining, wimpering, rehearsed, calculated, and arrogant voice of Cindy Sheehan. Please do all of us a favor and GO AWAY!
Yes...Brit did, but not the offline "dick" comment.
Never were truer words written.
My nephew is one of the many thousands of GREAT Americans who have served in Afghanistan/Iraq. I had eight of them over last night for a little barbeque . . . before they go back to Iraq in January. By the way . . . EVERY ONE of these youngsters volunteered to go back.
They were all talking and laughing and having a great time in my den. I'm disabled and I had a rather rough day yesterday . . . but their enthusiasm, gusto for life, and open-honest-but-understated-patriotism energized me so much I was able to get into my wheelchair and feed off their youthful vigor.
What a great . . . GREAT . . . GREAT group of young Americans. Anyone who complains about this current "ME" Generation . . . as I have many, many times in the past . . . were and are wrong. They "get it" far more than my generation did. We turned our backs on the Vietnam Vets . . . the single biggest mistake in my life, an event I will be ashamed of forever.
But my home was really rocking last night. There were six guys and two gals. All-American folks every one. Two are from Texas, three from California, one from New Yawk, one from Pennsylvania, and one from Guatemala. Yes, Guatemala!! She loves the U.S. as much or more than any of the "Natives." LOL.
Then a blurb about Mizzzzzzz Sheehan came on Fox News. The laughter died. All conversation ceased. All movement stopped. No one pointed at the TV. No one made a comment about the Traitor Sheehan.
But my love for these youngsters exploded by leaps and bounds in this silent minute. You could see the seething anger in their eyes. You could feel the hurt deep, deep in their souls. EVERY ONE of these youngsters had lost loved ones in New York on 9/11 . . . or in Afghanistan . . . or in Iraq. EVERY ONE of them knew their job was being made just that much harder by lunatic-traitors like Benedict Sheehan.
But they said nothing.
Some glanced to others . . . then nodded in some form of silent communication that those of us who haven't been in their shoes will never understand.
But they said nothing.
Then the medic-gal from Guatemala turned the TV off.
The youngsters drifted outside to the deck.
They'd seen enough news.
I don't tend to be the emotional sort . . . but I have to admit there was tears in my eyes then . . . and there are tears in my eyes now.
I just made a tour through my house. EVERY bed is full, the couch is being used, and three are sleeping on the floor.
Our Country's future is sleeping in my house. We've never been in better hands . . . and I've never been prouder to call one of our Protectors my own.
For every Cindy Sheehan . . . there are eight brave Americans willing and able to do their duty. I know . . . I've seen it first-hand.
God Bless YOU for giving 8 of our finest and evening of relaxation in your home.
Bump for later.
It is so irresponsible, seditious, really, for the MSM to give this unstable, anti-American creature a giant megaphone during wartime. That is why the NPR incident is so interesting.
NPR's Neil Conan had the courage and the intellectual honesty to pierce the mourning veil. His penetrating questions took her off message and confirmed what we suspected all along: Cindy Sheehan ain't too bright.
I was struck by her overweening, suffocating arrogance. This foul-mouthed creature, who is putting the soldiers--and this country--AT INCREASED RISK, actually thinks she can call the shots. Delusions of grandeur in real time. It isn't pretty. She has even reserved her place in the history books. A first, I do believe.
After the Washington Post poll yesterday, and her own blown cover, I suspect her 15 minutes of fame is just about over. Soon not even Sharpton will find her a suitable photo-op prop and not even Rather (if he had a job) would touch her scatological, anti-Bush screeds. (By the way, has anyone else noticed that Cindy Sheehan has a very limited, very rigidly structured repertoire of non sequiturs?) A one(off-key) -note Cindy, if you will.
The question Conan only obliquely alluded to:
How does an anti-American left-wing crazy--or worse, a standard-issue lying leftist manipulator with megalomaniacal tendencies--or perhaps even both--spawn a hero who twice volunteered to fight for his country? How does one reconcile the Cindy-Casey dissonance?
Surely Cindy Sheehan must have asked herself the very same questions. And her recent behavior reveals what her answer must have been, namely, that her paranoic, anti-American, anti-Semitic, anti-national-security radical left-wing ideology and behavior likely pushed her son in precisely the opposite direction; her lethally dangerous, vile and seditious non sequiturs likely provoked Casey Sheehan to re-enlist after the start of the war.
And hence the guilt, which she is dumping by the fetid truckload onto the president, and onto the country. She is one dispicable creature.
