Astonishing Exclusive From Mississippi [hundreds if not thousands dead]
Paramedic Rescue Operation | 8-31-05 | My Favorite Headache

Posted on 08/30/2005 10:10:45 PM PDT by My Favorite Headache

It is with heavy heart I write this...

I have finally reconnected with my best friend who is a paramedic who was sent from Georgia 2 days ago to Gulf Port, Mississippi before the hurricane hit.

He just reached me within the last 10 mins via emergency cell phone to tell me he was alive.

Thousands of bodies have been discovered throughout Mississippi in Gulf Port, Waveland,Hancock County,Bay of St.Louis.

They are hanging in trees and they are pulling them out 30 at a time. Entire families found drowned in their homes and washing up on shore.

The stories he could tell me were brief. National Guard is on the scene and arresting anyone seen on the streets.

The numbers are staggering and what I have been told tonight will shake people to their foundation as the numbers will be coming out in the next 24-hours of just how many people have actually perished in these and 3 other beach communities.

More to follow....

Hope you don't mind my asking, but you've been on the forum a good long time--do you recall any of the post-9-11 threads turning into this kind of b!tchfest? It seems as if every thread relating to the 'cane gets maybe a dozen posts that are on point and hundreds of others that have been nothing but dreadful mudslingling, and I'm not claiming myself to be innocent.

It seems that many of us have completely lost our sense of decency when posting. Or maybe it's just old age.

We used to be more respectful of one another on this forum, didn't we? I don't mean you in particular, just thinking maybe your memory is better than mine.

"No one is shifting anything. It is not a hugh leap to infer a death-toll of thousands in and area with reasonably good infrastructure and communications is a pretty good indicator things are even worse in the outlying areas."

Oh really? This story in the OP started out in Mississippi...now you and others are claiming I denied thousands of dead in New Orleans. WTF??? How is that not shifting the focus of the original story?

And it's funny how all the predicted zottings of my self and a couple of others...and the threatened banning by the Mods for daring to doubt the credibility of the original story haven't happened yet.

*shrugs*

But...The original debate and the original focus of this tall tale was on some anonymous place in Mississippi.

I know, I read the exchanges between you and My Favorite Headache. I don't know why you still say "tall tale."

Sounds like My Favorite Headache was spot on in announcing this early on FR.

I'm quite familiar with and admire both of you! I only posted to you, txradioguy, for the confirmation of the story. I'm sorry to say, it gets worse the more I hear. Prayers for all affected.

txradioguy, I'm rather surprised you didn't believe this story until it hit the MSM.

For instance, FReepers are the only ones who know that thousands attended the pro-troops rally in Crawford last weekend. I watched MSM - totally biased. Never correctly stated the huge numbers there! All we saw most of August was all pro-Cindy, all the time.

It happened well for instance during WWII, but do you remember all the great war work Hollywood did for the war cause. We are going to need a national effort on this like then.

I guess we'll see.

New Orleans is a suicide bowl. Elsewhere along the Gulf Coast is only a few feet above calm seas.

Truth this blunt is seldom rewarded at FR. But you're absolutely right. The dangers and lack of preparation for disasters has been on the record for years.

Your remarks suddenly made me think of the tornados that hit Denver about 15 years ago. Just as I was burrowing under my (basement-less) house, I saw entire families up and down the block, standing in the street looking at the pretty tornado.

Right at that moment, it was tearing 60-70 foot cottownods out of the ground only five blocks away.

Go figure.

Hugh just started this hour of his show by referring to the "knuckleheads over at Free Republic." Hugh, we're trying to get to the bottom of this. We really are. :)

Question for you: How is MFH supposed to corroborate a cell phone call?

I don't understand why people are trashing MFH for sharing info, when MANY other FReepers have done similar info-sharing on these threads. Just count how many, "My parents in such-and-such town just called, this is what they said about the conditions" type posts have been made.

due to a hearsay alleged phone call.

And I call your attitude hearsay thought process.

If this was you posting the info what 'tude would you have?

Did I actually say wheeling or crawling out in the storms? If the frail had exercised common sense - with or without help, some of the dead would have survived.

Soft-headed sympathy is compassionism. Don't confuse productive campassion with emotionalism which depends on wasting other peoples' money enabling fools repeat the same mistakes which set the stage for these high death count disasters.

New Orleans was a mass suicide party waiting for Mother Nature.

You mean the video and audio reports from that area that have been all over the television for 24 hours and the fact that all he has to base his original OP on is an alleged phone call with a buddy of his isn't enough?

The fact that the claims he made about "whole families" wahing onto the beaches in Mississippi have gone unreported?

Nothing out there to back up his claim of "bodies being plucked 30 at a time"?

Nah other than every other shred of CREDIBLE evidence coming out of Mississippi not backing up his OP.

" BTW...you would execute a fire mission against an enemy target with just hearsay one of your troops had with a buddy on a field telephone would you?"

You can bet your darned REMF butt I would! In the FA, we trust our EM and our "Buddies". Our job is fire support, swift, immediate and devestating. When they call for fire, we would deliver. We wouldn't assemble an editorial team to vet the request and discuss how it would be considered by the MSM.

"And I call your attitude hearsay thought process"

No it's called common sense.

"If this was you posting the info what 'tude would you have?"

I wouldn't have posted such a story with just a phone call from a friend as my only source of proof. So what ever point you were driving at is moot.
