Yes... and I saw a report this morning that was unbelievable. The Superdome is completely surrounded by a "moat" of waist-deep+ water. There is no accessing it. And the refugees who have been brought to it, and come to it from their own wrecked homes are wandering around across the moat, not able to get to the shelter/food/water they'd heard was there.
Have they started evacuating the Superdome yet as we heard last night?
It's been happening for the last couple hours.
Army Corp. has engineers out at levee now. They have filled the giant sandbags - currently attaching slings that will attach to helicopter. This afternoon, will begin dropping giant sandbags.
Also attempting to close the gap between lake and canal.
The lake level has equalized with the water in the city, which means no more flowing in except at high tide - one hide tide coming this evening.
Lake is receding at 1/2 inch per hour.
