Remember, heavy-lift choppers are still making their way to the area. Right now, they're scarce. The lighter Jetranger types cannot lift much (700lbs, at best over the two person crew, if I recall correctly), and the Coast Guard HH-60s and HH-65s are not rigged to carry loads.


Most of those hulls have run aground and cannot be refloated to be moved without a lot more time than they have.

Citizens have to get anything that runs to the lake to tow hulls into the breech area.

When they pass the breech, they will snag and after a few hundred of these, the flow will be drestically reduced as smaller flotsam fills up the nooks and crannies.
