People are looting groceries and other stores and then swimming back to where they came from. Freaking unbelieveable.
These levees are being breeched -- water is continuing to rise in New Orleans according to the Governor. Tells me that levees are in a precarious stage right now with breeches already happening.

It's difficult to excuse such a thing but I will say this. If my family was stuck in a situation like this, I would probably consider looting the local market myself - if I believed our survival depended on it.
Now if they're looting non-survival related items then they should be arrested or shot.
I haven't heard where anyone has seen any pictures of the broken levies yet. After this much time, it must be calculated.
Remember from '93 - when earthen levees get compromised, they deteriorate VERY rapidly. Are the NO all earthen?
You know, I don't care about the looting in this instance. These people are in survival mode now. It's going to be survival of the fittest. Natural instinct. Nobody can say what they would do in such a situation. God help them all.
