Just heard on Channel 6 that the two main spans into New Orleans are GONE. Crescent Connection is the ONLY way out by land and they don't know for how long as water is rising.
The Twin Spans bridge is completely gone. The Causeway is still there, but they are only allowing light emergency vehicles and *no* heavy trucks across - no civilian traffic. The Crescent Connection is the only open evac route out other than air.
