I did hear on wabc radio that three elderly people have died while being evacuated to super dome.

Initial reports said dehydration.

Wonder what that is about???

he wasn't sure he had the legal authority to order a mandatory evacuation...

Sounds like the mayor is taking the same non-action as Pres.Clinton when he had the opportunity to arrest Bin Laden.

Harrigan just about fell down...well, almost knocked down. The trees behind him are laying down and he talks about how it's still not the worst.

Just heard on the live feed on WDSU, that the pumps have failed and the water is coming in, as well sewage issues in the city. Could make a bad situation even worse.

We don't get the FOX News Channel with out cable subscription, but our local radio station (WSPT 1010 AM)continues to carry FOX News coverage over the radio.

Sometimes words paint an even more vivid picture!

Reports from NBC Jackson, pumps are down in NO.

All of them, some of them, did they say? I think at least some are also diesel-powered, aren't they?

I wish he'd get out of the wind; perhaps on the opposite side of a building or something.

Lake Pontchartrain has been very low due to the drought. He said it was two feet below the bottom of the stairs on the sea wall, at least before the storm started. And of course the River has been very low because of the drought in the Midwest. So seems like there is the lowest water level in memory, if not history.

So much for the drought.

I'm surprised that one of the reporters from the cables didn't decide to report from the casino area. I thought yesterday that they would be in big danger there of flooding.
