Category 4 Hurricane Katrina is approaching landfall in Eastern Louisiana. At 4:00AM EDT the storm's center was about 90 miles south of New Orleans.

He just said he's waiting for the trees to snap. Then they'll go inside (if the hotel opens the door).

Miss Marple... Is Harrigan the fool that is standing outside watching, drainpipes blow past his head..what and idiot... I had to change the channel, because it is hard to watch someone that stupid for long periods of time.
I was in NO in Betsy,,remarkablysimilar. The windows were breaking at Charity, power was off and the generator only lighted the halls. It was a total mess.
RE: In fact, I don't recall hearing ANY Louisiana officials willing to step up to the plate and tell people to evacuate. It finally took the President to lean on the mayor and governor to do something. Even then, they still had a wishy-washy attitude.

According to the update quoted at post 1321, "the western eyewall...is over New Orleans." Isn't the Superdome in the southeast edge of the lake, by Arabi?
Given the wacky camera angles I don't think he's faring well at all.
I would hate to witness his death on live TV. He needs to get into a shelter.

This is just crazy. I know he likes to be where the news is at, but this is nuts. FNC needs to stop talking to him so he has no option but to stay in relative safety.
