Hurricane Katrina Live Thread, Part VI
NOAA - NHC ^ | 28 August 2005 | NOAA - NHC

Posted on 08/28/2005 2:38:16 PM PDT by NautiNurse

Extremely dangerous Hurricane Katrina is bearing down on the North Central Gulf of Mexico and New Orleans metro area. Thousands of people did not evacuate New Orleans. Outer bands of Katrina are reaching the Louisiana coast.

Due to the size and intensity of this storm, all interests in the North Gulf of Mexico should be in their safe locations.

Lets hope not.

I would find no relief in knowing you were correct.

I'm sure! It's just that the sentence really brings sick things to the minds of folks with a sense of humor as sick as mine.

If you don't see anything wrong with it, then I pray for you. I pray for you, I pray for dayago, and I pray for theupman and cgk.

If you don't know why, then I will pray twice.

Thank you so much!

Hello,

We talked (via FR) last night. I so wish that you did not have the worry about your family that you do. My prayers are with you and each and every one of them.

"You posted directly to me, so be a man and not post to All."

And who did you post too? A person who has been around 5 years longer than you. And you can't wait to get them banned. I just wonder how they made in the old days when JR read every comment personaly. Even topher's minor comment offends you. I just can't even say what I think. Now Can I? You knock it off.

For crying out loud, just let it go!

Just skip over the stuff you don't like. This is a hurricane thread, so just tune out the static and don't ruin your blood pressure over it.

Yes, the Vortex Data Message (from the "hurricane hunter" crew that flies into the eye) reports wind speeds in KTS (knots). To convert knots to mph, multiply by 1.15. So 140kts converts to 161mph.

Here's a key to help understand the data in the vortex reports:

Some "professor" on CNN just said there's a 50/50 chance we're "going to lose a city." Who is this guy?

Sorry, I did not mean it that G-d was punishing people, only why God might be angry.

There is a difference.

Do you think G-d is pleased with Voodoo (a form of witchcraft)? Do you think G-d is pleased with pornography, especially child pornography?

That does not mean that when an event occurs, that G-d did it for a specific reason.

The invasion of Europe on the 6 of June 1944 was aided by a horrible English Channel storm. That storm led the Germans to believe that no one in their right minds would have invaded on that day.

In the case of the invasion and freeing of Europe on June 6, 1944, the terrible English Channel storm was a blessing and probably saved countless lives...

In no way am I saying G-d sent down a bolt of lightning.

The original question was why G-d might be angry, not why a Hurricane is in the Gulf of Mexico.

There is a difference between pointing out sinful behavior (which is not pleasing to G-d) versus saying G-d hates such and such a person.

Love the sinner, hate the sin. Ever hear that?
