The Hurricane Katrina technical information and discussion NautiNurse and others have been posting for several days on the Live Thread.
Information such as:
3. New Orleans/Baton Rouge Experimental Radar
The information contained on the "live" thread is important enough to reference link the entire "live" thread over here on your thread.
Wasn't it your plan for this thread to be reserved for Freeper check-in?
That's what we hoped.
And I wasn't aware that too much of that stuff was being posted.
Except Spiff's graphics with locations.
I guess I've lost control of this thread.......and my sanity!
LOL! You're doing JUST FINE!
In other words the link to the live thread was not posted as an admonition, or even as a personal reminder to you.
It was an attempt to help anyone who might wish to find the live discussion on the hurricane. That is all.
If entire truth need be told, there are some good recipes over there, but that's just my sweet tooth talking.
Spiff's graphics are fabulous.
If you wish, I could look in our lost and found department to see if anyone has... / laughter the best medicine after chocolate
Unless there's a way to postpone this Hurricane, the date on this thread has been changed to August.
Still here. Don't expect to have phones for very long. So I guess I'm about done till Tuesday a the earliest.
Take care everyone and see you probably after the storm.
Signing out for now.
Thanks Howlin for doing this. Just woke to check things out. We have lots of family in New Orleans. I think most left but my nephew a NO policeman and his mom stayed, also one BIL I know of. My husband has nine siblings and almost all still live in New Orleans or the surrounding suburbs.
Praying for everyone down there and watching the new depression in the Atlantic from here in Norfolk. No family in the gulf area. All prayers will be with those in the path of Katrina.
Heh. The house has plenty of power, thank you.
However, y'all have given me a good idea of what to do if it goes out. :-)
Now THAT is cool!!!!
(Btw, I'm in Jackson, MS.)
We still have power!! And Hot coffee. And my house is very cold.
I think NO is going to be okay!!
I guess I've lost control of this thread.......and my sanity!
Drive down to Ms Gulf Coast maybe you can get
a handle on things again!!
Rain and wind gusts of about 50 mph here in Baton Rouge. Most of the weather is to the east of us now. Started to post this about 10 minutes ago and as soon as I started typing the electricity went out. Just flashed off long enough to turn my computer off. So far we are "weathering" this without any discomfort. Waiting for daylight to get live video of New Orleans.
When is the next baby due?
I am in central costal FL, so I am ok. Katrina danced all around me, and stayed out at arms length. We got some rain, some wind and some surf.
If we didnt have such bad red tide, I would have gone to the beach for the waves.
Thanks for keeping tabs on us Floridians.
My in-laws are in Hattiesburg in Lamar County. My father-in-law had to stay late to help power down a manufacturing plant and couldn't get out before they closed Hwy 98 last night.
They have generators, etc. plenty of food and stuff but are expecting 80+ winds for six hours.
