Katrina is emerging into the very warm waters of the Gulf of Mexico early this morning after making landfall in SE Florida, then tracking SW. Thus far, she is well ahead of schedule, leaving at least four fatalities in her wake, and well over 1 million without electricity.

Katrina emerging from SW Florida into the hot bath Gulf of Mexico
Good Lord, look at the wide spread.
Rain!
It'll have to move 50-60 miles west, for me to get any rain and we need rain badly!
y'all are welcome to the rain :)
Seriously though, hope you all are safe & dry. Best wishes and God bless.
I'm thinking I may need to do some laundry and other little storm prep chores (just because) while the weather is still clear.
We're you here earlier when the FNC reported that parts of the Miami area had already had over a foot of rain?
When was the last time anyone heard from rodguy911?
I didn't see him on any of the storm threads today or tonight.

Forecaster Knabb
Last I heard on the Weather Channel, FPL ( Florida Power And Light ) reported 2.4 million people without power. Sounds like the Democrats.
What a storm projection. It looks more like a wild guess. I still don't believe the storm is going to take the sharp north turn they think it will.
Katrina is moving toward the west-southwest near 11 mph. A turn
toward the west is expected later this morning.
Now, help me here... where will that prediction hit?
Was laughing with another passenger on the flight home tonight about one of the tracks early this morning that showed a due west path across FL into the GOM, then a 90º sharp turn due north.
Katrina would have spilled her guts turning on a dime like that.
Yes - I heard that.........
I still have FNC on for background noise - and listening to the earlier taped reports are hilarious.......I mean really - 5 hour old hurricane updates .....LOL!!!!!!!
My husband made me turn off the tv --- so he can sleep, but the grandfather clock keeps waking him every half hour, so I am trying to type quietly.
Try the weather channel. I think they're less apt to repeat old updates...lol.
Talk to us - PLEASE........the 3 hours is about (or already) up!!!!!!!!!!
Hubby went to bed hours ago....he's gonna have a fit when he figures out how late I stayed up ....which he will be able to do with no trouble just by my reaction to him telling me I have to get up to go to PT :)
