FRC Speaks Directly to Senator Feinstein

August 24, 2005 - Wednesday

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: August 24, 2005 CONTACT: J.P. Duffy or Bethanie Swendsen (202) 393-2100

Washington D.C. - As reported in the media, Senator Dianne Feinstein (D-CA) believes she has a special designated role as a woman to play in the upcoming hearings on the nomination of John Roberts. Connie Mackey, Family Research Council's Vice President for Government Affairs, released the following statement today at a National Press Club news conference organized by Women for Roberts and the Committee for Justice:

"Senator Feinstein, for too long far-leftist organizations consumed with only one agenda, the pro-abortion agenda, have claimed they represent all women in general. Message number one - they do not. The women you see here today represent the mainstream of women in America who are bright, smart and want competent people on the Supreme Court, who will interpret the Constitution, not legislate from the bench. They want a fair, timely up-or-down vote on one of the most qualified nominees ever presented in the history of the court.

"We, like you, want to learn more about John Roberts and would certainly want him held to the same standard that was applied to Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg, who as you know when asked about her views on abortion, declined comment concerning her 'personal opinions' and refused to answer questions that dealt with cases that could come before the court. Indeed, Justice Ginsburg chose not to answer more than 30 questions during her 1993 Senate Judiciary Committee hearings stating, 'no hints, no forecasts, no previews' could be offered regarding particular cases expected to reach the Supreme Court. Republicans, regardless of her liberal politics, accepted her position and soon confirmed her by an overwhelming and timely vote of 96 to 3.

"Senator Feinstein, woman to woman, I ask you to employ the same courtesy for Judge Roberts' hearing and confirmation. Real women in America want a fair, timely, up-or-down vote."

Senator Feinstein, woman to woman....

Do we have any proof Feinstein is a woman? Should we hold congressional hearings to find out?

I surfed past this news conference on C-SPAN this AM and knew instantly, without hearing a sentence, that the platform full of women were NOT liberals - they were clean,
attractively dressed and smiling!

This should be repeated at every possibly opportunity until the confirmation vote!

Okay, I don't like DiFi anymore than you, but that was REALLY crass. I'm not gonna rat on you. but clean it up a bit, eh? We've got more than our share of DUmmies tramping around in the shrubs trying to pick off comments like that to take back over to DU and show their libby friends how evil we conservatives are. Don't give 'em any ammo.

Crass? No it was funny. Besides her bodyguard would have got him. Crass is her dancing on the graves of two dead men to her current position.

I never said it wasn't funny, as well, I only said it's crass humor. That's all.

As for her ascendance to the throne of San Francisco... yeah, there was that opportunism that looked the other way when it came to the required treading across the headstones.

Well, you've got THAT right. I used to wonder what the left would do if there were no conservatives but I finally realized that they'd just go right on and make up lies about each other and mutually destroy themselves.

Like this ancient limerick:
There once were two cats from Kilkenny
Each thought there was one cat too many
They fought and they fit
They scratched and they bit
'Til instead of two cats there wer'n't any

Ah, yes. Liberals in disarray ... what a sad state.

John Kerry, Lost?

John Kerry, lost? His noble brow,
Perchance revert to wrinkles now?
The valiant warrior strode the world,
Retreating now, his banner furled.

To face the wrath, withheld til now,
Of bitter phrase from stifled frau.
To pace the hall with echo dread,
While might-have-beens sift through his head.

To see his minions, tears bedecked,
And watch his ship of state be wrecked.
To tally promises he has made,
And worry how they might be paid.

To look into the mirrored eye,
And sadly to inquire why?
What was the key that slipped away,
Or what the coin of devil pay?

“I’ve sold my soul to buy this prize,
That withers now before my eyes,
That slips now from my straining grasp,
Which once I held in firmest clasp.”

His turning mind brings forth a name,
The source from which the troubles came.
“In vanquished mourning I confess,
I am John Kerry, and I approve this mess.”
