DONNELLY, Idaho (AP) -- President Bush has rapped sharp critics of his Iraq war policy, saying they advocate a position that would weaken the United States.
Retreating under fire would give the terrorists a victory, just like the one they won against the Soviet in Afghanistan. I believe the media is faking the level of dissent in this country becaue it cannot stand to see Bush vindicated. There is a total disconnect between what is happening in Iraq - and here - and what is reported by the MSM. I do not believe that my country should or will surrender to a bunch of thugs with cheap explosives.
Bush has no critics to answer, only terrorists and their sympathizers, all of whom hate this country and would like to see it brought low. has TV ruined us so much we have no memories that 9/11 was real? We are in a war. It will last at least a generation. Our parents and grandparents hunkered down and fought the 'cold war' - which often got hot, and with far more than 1,800 casualties - for 40+ years. Did they blink?
The 1960s really set a rot in America, with weak-kneed boomers having raised spineless consumerists unwilling to trade one comfort for freedom. Well, they'll try to bring another President down and gloat at having done our enemy's work. Democrats, and the pansy-RINCOs who want us to call 'uncle' [I'm thinking Hagel, with his corset, haircut and 'purple hearts' - are they Kerry-stock?] ought to know that we'll remember who they are.
What did we do to traitors in WWII? Interview them on the radio, give them Op-Ed pages?
Protesters aren't in the same group with people who give information to the enemy.
It was marginally popular after WWII and after the communists came to power in America in the Cold War (in office, media, and courts) the idea has become unthinkable.
I think less than a dozen people were prosecuted for treason for actions in WWII.
Uh.....on the internet?
Was Jane Fonda a traitor? She was pro-North Vietnam. Pro-communist. Visited the enemy territory, and posed on an anti-aircraft gun mount.
We aren't at war because we already won the war. Our troops are peacekeepers and they're being murdered.
Fonda went way beyond protest.
"We" do but there are still those who keep legacy media afloat.
I used to fear that far too many people are swayed by the media, but after last year's election, I'm a little more hopeful that many don't believe the press anymore. It's still a struggle, but I think most Americans understand.
"No he skied amongst the common people!"
AND mowed down a Secret Service agent, then cursed out and blamed the agent for running into him! Whatta guy!
How about Michael Moore?
He has thrown his support to the "minutemen" who fight us and supports their victory. Many of the leftist organizations standing behind Cindy have thrown their pledged support to the "Iraqi resistance".
Cindy Sheehan is becoming increasingly close to going beyond protest as well. Calling insurgents "freedom fighters".
LOL! HARSH!
If they were giving actual aid (money, information...or knowingly meeting with groups who do) then yes. However the power to prosectute people for mere speech and nothing else is not a power I'm willing to give the goverment.
If the media didn't have their thumb on the scale last election, Bush would have won by a larger margin.
Zogby was pushing tilted polling numbers even on election day. The left used those biased poll figures as "proof" that Bush stole the election (again) because he lost in the poll.
The silent majority knew that the press was against them and that fraud would be committed by the left. We knew that we would have to turn out in numbers greater than their efforts could mount. We did.
Bush beat EVERY "anybody but Bush" candidate combined.
The only war the US has ever engaged in that it should have pulled out from is the Civil War.
should be 'NOT willing'
Michael Moore accepted aid from Hezbollah promoting F911 in Lebanon.
Because this isn't your Daddy's America. It's a watered
down version, drowning in PC.
