Yes Diane, San Francisco is not the same beautiful quaint city you grew up in. Thanks to liberals like you, you've help turn it into the homeless, junkie, queer capital of the United States. It is now your bed, so sleep in it.

OMG do I actually agree with Diane Feinstein? I think I might need to lie down...

""This isn't the San Francisco that I've known and loved and grew up in and was born in," Feinstein said. "
Shocked, she is, shocked that SF is full of anti-American, anti-military bigots.
Yeah. . .right. . .

I walked those decks. My father was Chief of Staff of ComBatCruLant in the 50s, cruising the Mediterranean. Hasn't the SF Airport declared itself a military free zone? Forgive me if I'm wrong. My next trip to California will definitely include Stockton! Otherwise, I have aging family in California and it will be hard to visit.

Maybe we'll get lucky and see a real volcano pop up right in the center of city hall in S.F..

Rep. Richard W. Pombo, R-Calif., has sponsored legislation authorizing the ship's permanent move to Stockton. Feinstein has countered with a bill to open bidding to any California city. The two versions will have to be reconciled by a House-Senate conference committee considering the Pentagon spending bill. So, instead of being a tourist attraction in San Francisco, it's going to become a power-toy for our politicians in Congress?

Unbelievable. I wish my son would move from there, the city would be leveled, and we could start over to build a decent San Francisco. Why did the scum of the earth have to take over such a beautiful place?

Stop in and see this if you are ever passing down this way.....lots to see....not sure if the SR-71 Blackbird is still there...i think it is...that is awesome to see. The old diesel sub is a hoot also.

Why would anyone dishonor the ship by retiring it to a cesspool?
To: Jet Jaguar
I wonder if it would have been technically possible to get it to Iowa?
I know ocean going ships can sail as far as Tulsa. I guess California has it now anyway.

Man this is great news. The old girl will have a home where she is appreciated AND I can visit her without going to SF!
IMHO the Iowa and her sister ships are some of the most beautiful ships, of any kind, ever built.
I will be there opening day to salute her many crew members from over the years and the heroes that died on that terrible day.

I wouldn't want to see a proud ship like the USS Iowa dishonored by being moored at Sodom-by-the-Sea. It would only function as a pickup spot for the queers.
It appears that Stockton is a pro-military area. I hope the Iowa goes there.

After the Korean war, the Iowa was decommissioned and placed in reserve in a Philadelphia shipyard for three decades. In 1988, it was recalled to duty...uuuhhhh... IIRC, the Iowa got 5 Battle Stars in Vietnam!!!
