Fair Tax Fans is a group of blogs and websites that support the Fair Tax proposal advanced by Neal Boortz and Congressman John Linder in their best-selling book "The FairTax Book."

I am, of course, a supporter of this proposal and in an effort to help spread the word about the Fair Tax, I have started Fair Tax Fans. It is my hope that blogs and websites supportive of the Fair Tax will join Fair Tax Fans and help create support for this reform proposal. Please click right here for more information.

According to WSJ, the "fair tax" amounts to a stealthy double tax on boomers retirement. It will force boomers to pay taxes again on already taxed Roth IRA savings. I prefer Steve Forbes 17% flat tax proposal. It hits the blue staters the hardest.

I just finished reading it last night. I was skeptical until I read it, but I'm convinced now. Also, I don't remember a single typo in the book, and I'm a nit-picker when it comes to typos.

A Taxreform bump for you all.

If you would like to be added to this ping list let me know.

John Linder in the House(HR25) & Saxby Chambliss Senate(S25) offer a comprehensive bill to kill all income and SS/Medicare payroll taxes outright and replace them with with a national retail sales tax administered by the states.

H.R.25,S.25
A bill to promote freedom, fairness, and economic opportunity by repealing the income tax and other taxes, abolishing the Internal Revenue Service, and enacting a national retail sales tax to be administered primarily by the States.

Refer for additional information:

Why do they use the euphemism "Fair Tax" instead of calling it what it is -- a National Sales Tax? Wouldn't they be better off calling it what it is and letting the people decide if it is fair or not? Just asking. :)

I got to meet Neal Boortz this past Sunday. Nice guy. The entire crowd was jazzed to get their books signed. Despite an hour wait, even those of us at the back of the line cracked jokes and thoroughly enjoyed the event. He started signing at 3pm and got through 500 fans (some with multiple books) and still had time to catch his 6:15 flight.

"A pig in a poke". Another way for the government to pick our pockets.

HMMmm ... Here's the problem many will have with the Fair Tax:

They are 65 years old; they have paid the myriad of Income Taxes, Payroll Taxes, Social Security Taxes, Sales Taxes, Property Taxes, etc. their whole lives. And now that they are in a position to spend whatever they managed to save, here comes a National Sales mega-tax ... what's fair about that? ... just asking.

With that said, I can be reasonably sure that this will never happen unless the younger generation turns off the hip-hop and begins pounding on the door of their congress-critter. It would probably be worth their while to do so.
